Your USB device isn’t mounted so Skynet can’t find its install directory.

Thank You for Your help Adamm, I am going to start over with everything. Can you say what I should do to remove everything now to be able to start from scratch.

welcome to the forum. Not sure what you mean by “everything “. But did you install Skynet through AMTM? If so, just go in to AMTM, open Skynet, uninstall it and then reinstall it.

if you haven’t used AMTM, then I suggest you install it - see https://www.snbforums.com/threads/amtm-the-snbforum-asuswrt-merlin-terminal-menu.42415/

and then uninstall Skynet through it and then reinstall. Certainly, AMTM is as much a must-have program as are Skynet and Diversion.

I like Skynet a lot! It take me a long time to understand the whole menu. The word List is used for different meanings in for example: Change Filter List, Exclude Individual Lists, Import IP List and List Entries. Below I have made a suggestion for the menu changes, what do you think? I suggest to use the word Blacklist instead of Banmalware because it can block much more than only malware.
  • [3] Blacklist (Banmalware)
    • Change Blacklist (Change Filter List)
    • Reset Blacklist (Reset Filter List)
    • Exclude Individual IP sets (Exclude Individual Lists)
      • Input Names Of IP sets To Exclude Seperated By Pipes (Input Names Of Lists To Exclude Seperated By Pipes)
    • Reset Excluded IP sets (Reset Exclusion List)
  • [4] Whitelist
    • View Entries (List Entries)
      • Select Entries To View (Select Entries To List)
  • [5] Import IP Set (Import IP List)
    • Import IP Set To List: (Select Where To Import List: )
  • [6] Exclude IP Set (Deport IP List)
    • ...
  • [11] Settings
    • Skynet Autoupdate (Autoupdate)
    • Blacklist Autoupdate (Banmalware)

I've pushed v6.8.8 and adopted some of the suggestions above.

I did pass on the using the words IP Sets and overuse of the word Blacklist as it may lead to other confusion (people trying to import actual IP Sets, asking what ban vs blacklist means) etc.

Thanks for the fast update ;-)

I updated to v6.8.8 and the did a banmalware update (3,1). I got this:

Can't fork errors are firmware related and generally triggered by a misbehaving swap file. If it occurs again in future I'd start your investigation there.

I'm getting some errors in Skynet that I have never had before.

++ printf "%-35s | %-40s\\n" "[1] --> Skynet Skynet Auto-Updates"
etc...

If it occurs again in future I'd start your investigation there.
You were right, it occured again. How do I investigate the swap file problem?
Edit:
And where can I see my current custom filter list url?
Edit2:
Indeed, my USB drive had some errors, I managed to fix it. Skynet banmalware update is working again.

8/17 Tests Sucessful

On a clean reboot do you see any Skynet related errors in the syslog? Better yet try re-run the install command (you wont lose any data) and see if that corrects the issue.

Indeed, my USB drive had some errors, I managed to fix it. Skynet banmalware update is working again.

Good to hear

The settings layout can be fixed with something like:
-- printf "%-30s | %-40s\\n" "[1] --> Skynet Skynet Auto-Updates"
++ printf "%-35s | %-40s\\n" "[1] --> Skynet Skynet Auto-Updates"
etc...

Thanks, forgot all about adjusting the column width

Weird; I had the same problem today on (also) an AC86U...

A coincidence I guess, the fork issue has been around since the launch of the AC86U and IIRC can only be fixed by Broadcom in the SDK.

I had the USB not mounted issue (not the fork issue), but indeed still a coincidence I guess, unless more 86U owners report this.

Reinstall seems to have gotten rid of the errors. I will monitor and see what happens.

Thanks.

I just started getting these spam messages in my log: kernel: DROP IN=eth0 after I manually tried updating Skynet. I'm using an 86U. I reformatted the USB drive and reinstalled and skynet failed to launch. Had 3 red fail signs. A restart didn't work either.

Please post the exact output from Skynet in the syslog when it fails to start along with the output of the following command;

Code:
sh /jffs/scripts/firewall debug info

Several re-installs did the trick. No biggie,

Thanks!

Hi,

Today I saw there was a new update for Skynet, when tried through AMTM to get in to update it, this error showed up:

Code:

What can I do to fix it?
