Hi guys!

I live in Brazil, and own an Asus RT-AC88U bought from USA. I know that the recommendations in the forum suggest leaving the smart connect disabled, but I'm thinking about give it a try.

But I'm facing a problem: I use a TP-Link RE650 repeater made for Europe - yep, I know my network is a salad! :p -, and it uses only the lower 5 Ghz channels; if I set up the router to use Smart Connect, it goes to "Auto" and normally uses higher channels, leaving my repeater virtually blind to the 5 GHz band.

I would like to know if is there a way to restrict the choice of the router to the lower channels - untill 40 - when enabling smart connect, once my repeater is essencial to my home theater.

Thanks in advance!

Sleepy post, but if I recall. Too tired to check at the moment lol.

Smart connect enabled - channels are chosen automatically

Smart connect disabled - channels can be chosen & set manually. Hence the reason people tell you to disable smart connect if you want control over your channel

Yes, thank you daviworld. But I would like to know exactly if there was a way to avoid the automatical choice of the 5 Ghz band upper channels and force it to choose between one of the lower channels, perhaps through a script.

Anyway, thanks my friend!
