Since installing the 384_11_2 firmware on my RT-AC86U router, I am seeing the following events accumulating in the system log and I have no idea what they mean.

Jun 2 09:15:53 acsd: selected channel spec: 0xe09b (149/80)
Jun 2 09:15:53 acsd: Adjusted channel spec: 0xe09b (149/80)
Jun 2 09:15:53 acsd: selected channel spec: 0xe09b (149/80)
Jun 2 09:30:55 acsd: selected channel spec: 0xe09b (149/80)
Jun 2 09:30:55 acsd: Adjusted channel spec: 0xe09b (149/80)
Jun 2 09:30:55 acsd: selected channel spec: 0xe09b (149/80)
Jun 2 09:51:54 acsd: selected channel spec: 0xe09b (149/80)
Jun 2 09:51:54 acsd: Adjusted channel spec: 0xe09b (149/80)
Jun 2 09:51:54 acsd: selected channel spec: 0xe09b (149/80)

Does anyone know what these events are and if there’s a way to stop them from occurring? My router is working fine with no problems.

While I cannot answer the question, it is my belief that the router will periodically look for better channels to use based on changes in all the WiFi networks within reach. So there may be a WiFi network that is also using your channel but the signal is changing every so many minutes forcing your router to make a decision whether or not to change channels. You could try changing the type of events logged in the system log but doing so will not remove the cause of the entry.

Not as far as I can tell. I check my router system log frequently and prior to the recent 384_11_2 firmware update, I don’t recall ever seeing any acsd events present in the log.

^^^ I recall that’s the channel scanning so if you do a site survey and set your channels for both 2.4 and 5 GHz I think that stops the hopping.

Later.
