My router is the Asus RT-AC66U and is running Firmware:380.68_2

The router appears to run fine, but I'm getting this in the log on a regular basis, note red text. What causes this, and is there a simple fix?

That's normal when the router boots up. It's not an error so there's nothing to fix.

The router doesn't have a persistent clock so when it is powered on the clock is set to a default date and time in the past. Later, after the router has established a connection to the internet the date and time are corrected. The message is just informing you that the crond process noticed this adjustment.
