Timeout waiting for PADO packets (ASUS RT-AC86U) Help!

Hi All,

Noticed that my IP address changed last night just after 1am (The times on the log are 1hr+ as the router has already applied DST)

Asus RT-AC86U

Log:

Connection re appeared after that with a new IP address on a new IP range.

I don't know whether to blame the router or my modem or somewhere in the ISP's exchange/backhaul.

What do you think?

I will keep an eye on it but any ideas?

Why blame anything ?

The log looks normal and is what happens when the connection is dropped.

Your ISP refreshed the connection and you got a new dynamic IP, once the line syncs again the log entry stops.

I am also a little baffled that the time this went on for was 6 or so minutes. Isn't that a little long?

With also being moved to a new IP range all together could they have been moving lines over? Or am I over thinking it?

It can take several minutes, depends on the reason for the session being ended.

I am on a static IP and sessions can last 30 days, then the ISP kit breaks the session , the router keeps looking for a connection till the line is reset.

Sometimes the ISP or carrier may be doing work so it is longer.

PADO timeouts indicate the the modem or the line was down, and the router was unable to establish a PPPoE session with your ISP. This was most likely simply a maintenance window from your ISP.
