I don't trust online bufferbloat tests. Waveform shows me inaccurate up/down speeds (up to 50Mbps above my actual ISP speed) all the time. None of online bufferbloat tests is even close to real Internet use conditions. It's enough to set a speed limiter below ISP speeds and possible bufferbloat condition disappears. I use simple ping testing under load, nothing else. As long as ISP line is not saturated, ping tests are always low. Online bufferbloat tests only freak out people with no good understanding what bufferbloat is and when it may happen.

Worked quite well. Consistent results as compared to DSL Reports Speed Test. Waveform sure gives more info about test results and how to improve results.

I use fast.com then after the first auto run I changed settings to test loaded ping and upload. I don’t think it shows buffer bloat per se but it does show loaded and unloaded ping.

Hate them too, waveform never seems to record my UL and DL correctly.
I tend to use ping plotter if I want a look over what’s going on.

Try Ping plotter which has more than just a simple ping test.

I wish I had those speeds but on a 55 and 11 connection it’s an issue. Trouble is it’s often believed that QoS and bufferbloat are needed on great connections, more so by gamers who have a gig up and down then crucify their connection in the belief they suffer problems.

The Waveform bufferbloat test does seem to be available here, and works-ish. But if you are not on a slow connection it's pretty irrelevant anyhow.
Oh and "ping-plotter" you either have to use the free trial or pay for it, if you try using a "cracked" version, it's your device that will be cracked - and if you run ping-plotter in the background permanently it can cause problems!

Yes, I can see using it at slow speeds. I could have used it back in the DSL years.
I guess you know it only comes into play when you saturate your 1 gig connection. So, they probably are not doing anything to help.

I’m on a site, one I dare not mention and watching gamers using QoS to cut a gig line down to 400mb and then complain they have a 5ms results hahaha. Honestly it’s not so much the site it’s end users not understanding what they are doing but believing it will make a difference when playing COD!!

I blame the router company one I will not name on the above which in my honest opinion is garbage advertising. Hell they used CPU threads and named them CPU in the software to make out it have a quad core on their last router, how they get away with it is beyond me but hey ho.

I used to play CSS on a 500kbps/50kbps connection with no issues. (circa 2005)

CS 1.6 was on dial up!!

The test is repeatable, I get similar results almost every time. Test of my three locations:

I will only add that this coincides with my observations and the most responsive network is the first one. Speed doesn't matter here.
