Troubleshoot WAN Aggregation?

Have an AX88U running 384.19.

My ISP is Comcast and my WAN connection is to a DOCSIS 3.1 EMTA (Arris T25) which supports two cables connections (1Gb) to a router. I can see both ports enabled on the EMTA and running at 1Gb.

If I enable WAN aggregation on the router, it enables and I can see the WAN connection is up and an IP address is assigned.

Here’s the problem...before I setup aggregation I get ~930Mbps downloads (the full gigabit speed). After enabling WAN aggregation on the router, I seem to get half speed. My downloads are ~470Mbps.

When I use AC wireless clients that used to get ~550Mbps downloads, I can only get around 270Mbps with aggregation enabled.

How can I troubleshoot? Could be the EMTA, but no clear how to determine. Any suggestions or thoughts?

I don't have that modem (or ISP) but from what I can see online it doesn't appear to support link aggregation at all. Unless you know otherwise? That could explain why your throughput is being halved.

The only way I can see that you could get more than 1Gb throughput would be if your ISP provisioned two separate connections, one for each LAN socket. Then you could use the router's dual WAN capability.
