Folks, I just did this through amtm (Update and Upgrade Entware packages)...there were some there for me, and I'm sure you could find the same.
we focus on updating firmware and scripts, but sometimes the stuff behind 'em needs a wee bit of attention too.

I have a question — for AC routers, AKA routers staying on the 386 code base, should we continue to update these Entware packages … even in the absence of actual FW updates? (Or in light of fewer/farther between FW updates anyway?)

will these Entware package updates break things on AC routers currently running the 386.7_2 Merlin FW?

Nobody knows what will break in the future, but the updates for the firmware and the amtm/Entware/script side are not linked.

In other words, keep updating until you can't on any particular hardware/software platform. Then, I would suggest it may be time to upgrade (soon).

I've the AC86 on current Merlin, and I didn't reboot the router after upgrading.
I returned home from work last night to find unbound had stopped/failed (there were a few unbound upgrades...why I should've rebooted), so I had to ssh in to update unbound's config from the unbound manager in amtm...once I did that, I could YouTube myself to sleep as usual ;-D lol

Hadn't looked at entware since I originally posted this ~3mo ago, but I saw some chatter on this forum about one, so I decided to check what amtm said when I told it to 'u', and the list of available updates was surprisingly longer than expected.
An 'ep' and '1' upgraded packages, and everything seems fine...but I didn't restart Entware from inside scMerlin...might want to give that a go, but it might cause my uptime to re-set (I just upgraded my AC86 to 386.10 8 days ago...)

When I open and close the fridge door, the light briefly comes on but things stay cool in it ;)

lol well, unbound needed to be re-started (again, like the last time 3mo ago) with the new config file/dependencies
Restarting the router affects uptime, not Entware. That is what I meant with the fridge analogy.

Hi there I am new so please be patient. I use Putty for SSH and when I enter:

curl -0s https://diversion.ch/install && sh install

I get:

Code:
#!/bin/sh
#bof

# Diversion is free to use under the GNU General Public License version 3 (GPL-3.0)

# Script Version 4.3.2

if [ -f /usr/sbin/curl ] && [ -f /usr/bin/tee ]; then
        cd "$HOME"
        /usr/sbin/curl -Os https://diversion.ch/diversion/4.3/diversion
        chmod 0755 "$HOME/diversion"
        rm -f "$0"
        exec "$HOME/diversion"
else
        echo
echo " Sorry, wrong platform or firmware."
echo " Diversion cannot be installed on this device."
        echo
echo " Diversion requires Asuswrt-Merlin firmware"
echo " installed on a supported Asus Router."
        echo " Goodbye"
        echo
        rm -f "$0"
        exit 1
fi
#eof
sh: can't open 'install'

Can someone please help me?

I made a quick little script that runs the same update check that AMTM does daily and emails me if there are any updates, including entware.

Just noticed another 3 updates for Entware, but they can't be applied since there is no version or package info showing. It displays the following info when checking for updates in AMTM:

I haven't had time yet to compare versions of the installed packages and what's listed on https://bin.entware.net/aarch64-k3.10/Packages.html to find out what was updated. Does anyone else see the same problem?

Yes just noticed the same within AMTM...

I just went through my list of installed packages vs. package versions available on entware.net and there are no discrepancies in version numbers. So I don't know what this is all about?

Hi
Some problems.
I add: adguardhome and scribe they no longer work after the latest entware update, the possible solutions found in this forum do not work for me. 🙁😫
I was hoping for this upgrade.

Code:
➜ opkg update
Downloading https://bin.entware.net/aarch64-k3.10/Packages.gz
Updated list of available packages in /opt/var/opkg-lists/entware
➜ opkg upgrade
Package transmission-cli version 3.00-19b has no valid architecture, ignoring.
Package transmission-daemon version 3.00-19b has no valid architecture, ignoring.
Package transmission-remote version 3.00-19b has no valid architecture, ignoring.

So maybe transmission? (which I don‘t use/install…)

Same issue here with entware - 3 updates listed but go to update and no updates are applied.

I don't use transmission either. Still haven't found what triggers the update.
