Upgrading EOL RT-AC5300 to BE92U?

Is it a good idea to upgrade the RT-AC5300 to a $230 BE92U as an AiMesh node?
Will i get better 2.4ghz range and wifi speeds?

Or should i spend more for something bigger?

Unlikely. There is a chance RT-AC5300 4-stream 2.4GHz radio has better range than RT-BE92U 2-stream radio.

In networking bigger doesn't translate to better. Bigger Asus models have 1kg of non-functional gaming plastic...

Actually, you will do better with an AX86U Pro. Costs less, too. Check the specs out.

Wired or wireless AiMesh node and to what main router are also important details…

It will run as a wired AiMesh node to a main GT-AX11000.

Should i just make it the main router and switch the GT-AX11000 to an AiMesh node to get better 2.4GHz range?

Keep in mind I have plenty of concrete walls.

I prefer to get the latest wifi7 for future proofing.

Just installed the BE92U I got better 2.4ghz range and faster 5 and 6ghz wifi speeds.
My 1gbps connections is now being maxed over wifi.
