New Around Here
Hi,
I am very new to Voxel firmware, just flashed my rbk50, and trying to play around with it now. I noticed after flashing, it seems I can't connect to my smart plugs (Tuya app) without connect to home wifi, it was working fine when factory firmware was installed.

Does Voxel firmware changed anything about firewall rules etc compare to the Netgear? In order for my Tuya to work without home WIFI, do I need to SSH and open some port? Thanks in advance.

If you're not connected to your home WiFi, thus not to the RBK50, then whether that firmware has different settings for the firewall or not, doesn't matter. The firewall does not extend beyond the router/firmware. Something else is going on...

It actually does matter, if the port/protocol is blocked by firewall introduced by newer firmware, then it will block the connection from outside home wifi. Cant find much infor about Tuya, it seems the devices will connect automatically to its cloud.
