Hi there first post, hope someone can help.
3.0.0.4.376.48_3
I have just bought an RT-AC66U to replace my BT Homehub 5 which I was having port forwarding problems with. Well pleased with my choice so far but needing some advice please.

I have installed 3.0.0.4.376.48_3 on my Asus. I have a noip account for DDNS.The built in DDNS can resolve my hostname to my BT WAN IP no probelm. I have now taken out an Open VPN with Tor Guard . I want to route all traffic on all my devices through the VPN. I have followed the instructions as best I can and have setup the open vpn client details in my router. But when the open vpn is activated the ddns fails to resolve . I have been trying to sort this out for nearly 3 weeks and have trawled the forum for solutions before posting. I have found that I am not alone with this problem but cannot find a solution, There are lots of differing posts about the problem but I ould like to hear from anyone who has fixed it ,

I am new to third party routers, butI am competent enough to use putty and winscp if required.

Thanks for looking, Tom

I have the exact same problem and have not found an answer either. I am inclined to suspect that the combination of OpenVpn , Asuswrt Dynamic dns are somehow not compatible in some way or another.I have scoured google for this quesion and have only found it asked in refernce to Asuswrt and OpenWrt.
I am almost ready to throw in the towel. Very frustrating. DDNS works fine without VPN enable and vice-versa, but not together.

Torguard user here.

Try this,

script-security 2
route-nopull
add the above to the "Custom Configuration" box under Your vpn client.
Save and restart vpn client then check the ddns status.

Hi there and thanks for trying to help. I had sort of given up and have been running the torguard app on indiviual devices which works but would prefer to do everything via the Asus router.

Tried your suggestion and no difference, took a system log, copied and pasted from when i started open vpn client and then renewed ddns updater via router dashboard
