Weird SSH Problems

I realize this thread is a little stale and I don't know if you found a resolution or not. In my case I found my RT-AC66U_b1 (same hw as 68 I think) running Merlin (any version so far; currently running 384.5) doesn't seem to like SSH over wifi -- wired works fine. If I'm connected directly to the AP over wireless I get the same SSH problems you described. If I connect through another AP (which then connects via wired) or through a host on a wired port I don't have issues. Changing to allow SSH over WAN did not work either.

I have the exact same problem as well :/ . I have two APs, I am not able to SSH into the AP I am currently connected to, but I can SSH to the other (farther away) AP.

Did anyone find a solution for this? I bumped into exact problem with my AC68U which got WAN port fried due to electrical surge and i undocked my work laptop and moved upstairs trying to work over WiFi and it drove me nuts with constant Putty session freeze, just hung! Prior to that i was always docked with hard wire connection and never faced SSH terminal session issues!

I read about all Putty config & setup KeepAlives, Windows Registry DataRetransmission property but no luck

As the OP mentioned, 9 out of 10 times login prompt will take input and then just freeze! Just mind blowing experience between wired & WiFi! Would love to see if anyone has similar experiences and possible solution!

Thanks
