Skynet What are some good current block lists? - Skynet

Don't want to sound completely biased, but @SomeWhereOverTheRainBow's list is probably one of the best, with mine in a distant second. I built my own list and been using it for years, blocking the baddies from our family's network with minimal disruptions to blocked false positive content. ;)

We even joined forces to build this filter validator to ensure the list you use doesn't have some gummed up content in there that could break Skynet:

Here's the list URLs:

I would tell anyone, use either list to match your needs. If mine blocks too much, then use @Viktor Jaep . Both of our lists are pretty comprehensive. Let's be honest, they would be even better if skynet used an aggregation tool to shrink them down. But skynet does not aggregate ip addresses. Aggregation would be the next step improvement to skynets block-ability. This would reduce the memory footprint, and reduce the size of single IP lists incorporated. Aggregation would allow for more addresses to fall within the ranges whereby reducing skynets memory foot print on the router.

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Jack-Sparr0w-2o4/Gatekeeper/refs/heads/main/Filterlist this is an overkill list but has served me well so far. I block everything from the CIA, FBI, Killnet gangs, law, military, terrorist and any organization that breaks the law on the internet. No one needs those addresses on there router anyway. I just block all the worst parts of the internet. A few parts of my list are hand made but make a huge difference to stop bogons. Any spy organization of any sort will be blocked with this whole list. I hope you enjoy the privacy :)

Have been using this list for a day now- Seems to be working well for me, I agree with you, gotta block those nasty parts of the internet

My own data point:
I found @SomeWhereOverTheRainBow's list to block a bit too much (e.g., ProtonMail was blocked when using the app). I reverted to @Viktor Jaep's list but that also blocked Tor. I ended up forking Viktor's list and removing the Tor lists so that I could connect to the Tor network.

The real question is why would ProtonMail find its way into a block list. None of the IP's in the list are "self" added. I wonder which community blocks it.

Yeah, I thought it was pretty strange. Interestingly, it only affects the native app. The website and the Proton Mail Bridge continued to function normally.

If you need to I could make you a list without tor block, Victors list is well established ATM. The lists are dynamic, wait a few days and it might unblock itself. Lots of update Virus going around. Its probably saving from a bad update from there overloaded network ATM. Hold out for like a week and let the firewall do it's magic.

I was trying to test this list but keep getting 404 error detected. Any thoughts?
