Skynet What are some good current block lists? - Skynet

Try uploading again, I eliminated the lists that were causing the issue. let me know if its still happening or not.
I have the same problem, that there are no (0) IP ranges blocked, just IPs. I try the Gatekeeper and Gatekeeper-IANA with same result. Any ideas?

I think you are hitting the 'limit' of the maximum number of elements in Skynet, as standard.
I have found when you hit/exceed the limit of the max 'Blocked IP's' the 'IP ranges' are not updated !!!
[Possibly something in the script ???]

Reduce the total number of blocked 'IP Addresses' below 500,000 and the 'IP Ranges' should be read in.

Everything is showing up on my end and I tested all blocklists. Might need a better router to use this list. It also might be the storage device you are using. Sometimes they need to be replaced. Mine shows 700000 blocks and close to 200000 ranges blocked

I can make a medium Size list. Lay down a list of address you want in the list and I can Produce it. Open the link I sent. Look at the filter list and choose the address you would like to be on the list. Send it in a link using notepad or something that I can open on notepad. I can make this a permanent list. Takes a little time, trial and error when building a new product. Thank you for your support.

I just ran the list on my router, everything checks out on my end. I used this list: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Jack-Sparr0w-2o4/Gatekeeper/refs/heads/main/Filterlist The results are on the image I sent. It Shows 50000 range blocks, I also played fortnight with the bigger list of close to 200000 range blocks. No issues with speed at all with this list. Movie sites and Youtube work fine to. The bigger list is also on my 66u b1 with unbound and it works perfect. Even on a really old router that is not even supported fully by merlin anymore, the biggest list in my project works with it. I will factory reset my router next week, load up the list. and see if it gives me the error. That would narrow it down and show that the list can work right from the get go. here is were the project is located on github https://github.com/Jack-Sparr0w-2o4/Gatekeeper/blob/main/Filterlist

Hello @Jack-Sparr0w,

I am watching this thread carefully because I really like what you are doing. Thanks for your hard work.

I know someone did ask the same question as I am going to ask but this time I will be more precise.
I went to our GitHub and I saw all these list:
  • Gatekeeper
  • Gatekeeper-VPN-Blocklist
  • Gatekeeper-IANA
  • Gatekeeper-IANA-Gaming
  • IANA-Streaming
  • IANA-Everything
You seemed to reply by pointing to Gatekeeper list because it should be the most suitable for general usage.
Can you please elaborate a little bit the different Gatekeeper variants (VPN, IANA, IANA-Gaming) and the both IANA (Streaming and Everything)?
I looked back in your previous posts and wasn't able to get a clear answer and got more confused because:
  • Sometimes you recommended "Gatekeeper-VPN-Blocklist"
  • You said "IANA-Streaming" is overkilled
Maybe I am lacking some knowledge to understand (sorry if this is the case) but like I said, I really like your job.
My goal is to better understand the different lists to use the right one for my usage (mostly around major streaming platforms and online gaming with GeForce Now).

Thank you very much.

  • Gatekeeper-no iana blocks (public use)
  • Gatekeeper-VPN-Blocklist no iana and sometime will be changed due to vpn (Public use)
  • Gatekeeper-IANA not used anymore
  • Gatekeeper-IANA-Gaming dev list
  • IANA-Streaming iana with gatekeeper list (public use)
  • IANA-Everything all iana with gatekeeper, reference list

IANA
(Internet Assigned Numbers Authority) manages the allocation of IP address blocks and other internet number resources. Here are some key points about how IANA blocks are used:

  • IANA allocates blocks of IP addresses to Regional Internet Registries (RIRs) such as ARIN, APNIC, RIPE NCC, LACNIC, and AFRINIC, which then allocate them to ISPs and end-users within their respective regions.
  • IANA also reserves certain blocks for special purposes, such as private networks, documentation, and testing. These blocks are not globally routable and are used for specific functions within local networks.
  • Some blocks are reserved by protocol, meaning all compliant IP implementations must behave in a special way when processing packets to or from these addresses.
Use the public list

Wonderful, thank you so much.

So, it seems that I can give a try for these 2 lists:
  • Gatekeeper
  • IANA-Streaming
I will try them and see the result.

So I took this list Angry tux gaming without spying and edited it to make it work with Skynet, does everything look alright: My Edited Clean list https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Jack-Sparr0w-2o4/Tux-No-Spy-Gaming/refs/heads/main/Filterlist

Original list: https://codeberg.org/angrytux/gaming_without_spying/raw/branch/master/tracking-games.txt

Is it look alright or is it missing something, I mean the Skynet took to it, but im not sure if it can grab all ips when it looks like that. Is there any other character to edit out on mass scale to make it easy on me. I also asked the owner of the list to make a clean version that can translate to Skynet better.

Just to report my testing result of @Jack-Sparr0w's Gatekeeper list
  • Configured since last Friday
  • Until now, don't notice any major trouble with my usage (Netflix, Disney+, Amazon, Geforce Now to only focus on the famous ones)
  • Router's GUI seems to be a little bit slower, but maybe this is me that is too impatient :)
  • One fact, using this list, I can see 100 MB memory usage more (was around 300 MB free RAM before, now around 200 MB)
Will continue to test and report if anything new/major happens

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Jack-Sparr0w-2o4/Tux-No-Spy-Gaming/refs/heads/main/Filterlist Is integrated with all lists now. I rewrite this firewall myself. Had to take all Activision services and games off this list for cod bo6 to work. Cant block Activision in any, trust me I've tried. all other games seem to work fine with tracking and spyware blocked. If you run into trouble with any games, just let me know and I will look into it. Thank you for your support

stick to gatekeeper list, IANA blocks add to many address

Thanks for the recommendation. I'll use it and not do any further testing for now.

A strange issue to report: yesterday afternoon I had to temporarily disable Skynet because no devices could access the internet.
Once disabled, everything went back to normal immediately. I left Skynet disabled for a few minutes, re-enabled it and let it run until now without any reboots or anything else.
I don't know if there is a connection between using this huge list or if the problem would have appeared anyway.

Sharing "in case" it might help or give someone a troubleshooting idea.

New Blocklists I am adding to Gatekeeper:
