Yes they should. If you haven't already done this (as a test) put your 5 ghz at 80 mhz (not 20/40/80). If you have it set on "auto" switch it to N/AC mixed (or vice versa) and test those 3 clients again.

I switch 2.4ghz N only and 5ghz to N+AC gona see if helps any.

Our iPADs are Gen 3 or Air 2, iPhones when kids come home they are iPhone 5s. No one complains.

gona test that and see what happen with 5ghz, but like said this happens on 2.4ghz too surface 3 is only device that really dont have issue out on deck, if get one those routers that "covers" 5000 square feet and still have this issue, then i guess they can complain all the want cause it has to be there devices at that point.
