New Around Here
well, i went to walmart last night, and i bought a wndr 3700v3.....it seems that walmart is stocking the v3 version, and i was not aware of the hardware changes from versions v1 v2 until i did some surfing.....

i think walmart sells the wndr 4200, the linksys e2500, 3200 and 4200..

i have 30 days to return this or keep the wndr 3700v3....should i keep the v3700, or return it for another version i have posted.....i will have to get one in the store...

How is the WNDR3700V3 working for you? Any problems?

i have had no problems so far, only the router would not since with the modem, and ended up being the settings not correct in the setup page.....

i have read some not recommend this router, though netgear seems to be selling a ton of them, and with good reviews

If the V3 works good for you then don't worry about the online comments. Keep in mind that most who comment online are experiencing problems. Most users who are pleased don't bother visting forums.

I suspect that some V3 complaints stem from people's belief that Netgear chose to value engineer it to bring down the cost. One thing they did was switch from Atheros to Broadcom chipset. Is that a step down, I cannot say for sure.

"value engineer it to bring down the cost. "
That's a wonderful new term, isn't it?
It's increasingly applied to things like refrigerators and washing machines (that used to last for 25 years).

Yeah, like "rightsizing" or "outsourcing" instead of "layoffs".
