    I live in China and recently bought (2) RT-AC86U's from my local distributor. Once you log in to the router, there is a "Language" button at the top where you can select whatever language you want including English just like every other ASUS router I've used here.

    You are going to have a few problems with this. First of all, both PPTP and L2TP are blocked in China. OpenVPN is sporadic at best.     I hope you are right. Unfortunately, Astrill is now a shell of its former self. Perhaps that will turn-around.

    How do I know? Because historically, they always have. China basically shuts down the Internet two time a year. Once during Spring Festival and the other during the CCCP & NCP meetings that are happening now. Afterwards, things have always gotten back to "China normal" meaning VPN's work again...

    Websites believe I am using a proxy/VPN (factory & Merlin) on N66U

    This "folk" has been paying for Netflix since the beginning. So my job sends me to China where I have been for several years. I now need VPN to receive content for which I am paying. Netflix is happy to take my money but not so happy to allow me to have the content.
