I updated my GT-AX6000. It's been working perfectly in AP mode so far.

I noticed some changes in the user interface, especially on the main Wi-Fi settings page (combined 2G and 5G).
I'm wondering where the TWT (Target Wake Time) and Wi-Fi Agile settings went? I couldn't find them in the user interface.

Does this mean we don’t have to do a factory reset when migrating from 3004 to 3006?
I hope it does. My needs are pretty simple, and not having to start from scratch would make it more appealing to experiment for me. I'm also wondering if it's easy enough to switch back to 3004 if need be.

Nice to be back on Merlin after a 5 month hiatus with the Stock 3.0.0.6 firmware. Really nice to have VPN Director Back.
Surprisingly easy installation...Flashed back to 3.0.0.4 and restored config from Merlin then upgraded to the 3.0.0.6 firmware...Then tweaked some stuff.
Everything running very well especially considering it's an Alpha.

I decided to do a full reset/nuke since it's a "major" version upgrade, but maybe not necessary but always feels good with a fresh start.

My first findings:
1. The setting "Wan: Use local caching DNS server as system resolver" is missing. It was great to catch all DNS-queries from the router itself. Now these queries goes unencrypted.
Maybe it can be replaced by an IPTABLES command to achieve the same result?!

2. I also noticed the missing clients in "System Log - Wireless Log" mentioned in a previous post. The only clients showing up for me is the ones under Guest Network Pro.
3. The setting "Hide DHCP/RA queries" under LAN -> DHCP Server is also missing. Was nice to keep the logs a bit cleaner.

I installed it on an GT-AXE16000. I noticed a few things.
I can no longer select 5G-2 separately for the guest network. There is only the option of WiFi band 2.4GHz or 5GHz, there is no separate 5G-1 or 5G-2.

I can see the connected devices in General - Network map - View list, but in System log - Wireless log only one device is visible, which is connected to the guest network, but in Guest Network Pro it does not show it as a connected client. However, in System log - Wireless log - Display low level details, all clients are visible.

In General - Network map - View list, if I want to sort by interface, after a few moments the sorting is discarded and the order is mixed again. Sorting by client name keeps your order well, it does not change.

I know it's just becoming available for many of your models; and many of you are catching up in the changes of 3006 firmware, but I would recommend reading the changelogs before reporting any "issues":

For example, your first report is expected by design in the changelog.
- REMOVED: Option dns_local_cache from Tools -> Tweak settings,
to avoid issues with SDN that run their own
dnsmasq instances.

Or the initial 3006 post:

RT-AX86U Pro - Flashed over stock Asus firmware, reset and manually reconfigured, Turned off UPNP. Turned on DNS Director - Router. Enabled Instant Guard and Wireguard server. Added 16 GB USB2 and created 2 GB swap then install Diversion and Skynet. Loaded five custom block lists on Diversion (758,371 domains). Added Traffic History to USB. Added AX86U as AiMesh Node.

So far so good!

I think this is by design. I'd have to check the changelog. I remember reading something about it there. If it is really important to use, you can always use the dnsmasq.conf.add or a postconf script and add the feature back yourself.

EDIT, and I just saw @ExtremeFiretop's post - there you go....

I'm planning to experiment with 3006 tomorrow evening (on my GT-AX6000), but I'm a bit confused about the SDN specific dnsmasq config files. Do these replace the regular one, or are their settings added?
(I currently use a few guest networks on 3004 that I want/have to convert to SDN?)

Dirty upgrade from latest 3004 Merlin on AX86U PRO (I didn't even disconnect the USB drive) with AC86U and AC68U in wired mesh (all on latest relevant Merlin).
All seems to be working just as well as before, I tried the internal speedtest with same result as before. I'll report back if anything odd happens.

RIP 115 days of uptime... LET'S GO!!!

EDIT: Upgrade on my GT-AX6000 Router done. No issues off the hop. Will give it a restart in 15 mins or so and then let it settle. So far so good. I see Asus has added a bunch of EULA agreements. That's new. LOL
