Question for Merlin or you ASUS pro's.

Few questions. Did you do a factory reset and manual reconfig after installing Merlin? Are you using any AiProtection features? What are you using for the Nat Loopback under firewall? Merlin?

380.50? There is no 380.50. Also, what model?

Question for Merlin or you ASUS pro's.

That's odd I definitely notice my speeds being limited when I change mine. Have you tried setting them to 19 and 285 and applying then waiting 10mins and doing to dslreports test? What firmware version are you running?

Question for Merlin or you ASUS pro's.

Input your settings and reboot the router. If can take a few minutes for QoS to activate. Make sure you are hitting apply obviously also.

Question for Merlin or you ASUS pro's.

Sure. So, I have no idea what the tags on the Bandwidth Monitor page are for. On the Adaptive QoS page under the QoS tab though I have it set for Adaptive QoS the limits are set for 95% of my maximum speeds and I setup a custom QoS order for the traffic prioritization. The 95% of your max...

Question for Merlin or you ASUS pro's.

Are you talking about the color codes on the Bandwidth monitor page? Never really understood the purpose of the tags on that page. Hopefully someone can explain. I just use Adapative QoS with a custom settings for the priorities.

Question for Merlin or you ASUS pro's.

I can't speak to the Game Boost my 87U doesn't have it. I however do use the Adaptive QoS on it. Not because my bandwidth is limited though, I have plenty of it. I use it to mitigate bufferbloat. It does a very good job of doing that if you set it up correctly. Correct settings meaning setting...

    RT-AC87U 5GHz 20/40/80MHz Question

Sorry I didn't mean to offend you by ignoring you. I just didn't completely understand what you were trying to get across with your statement.

    RT-AC87U 5GHz 20/40/80MHz Question

I have a question about the channel bandwidth on the RT-AC87U. There are only three options for the bandwidth settings on the router using Merlin 380.58. 20, 40, and 80MHz. I currently have it set for 80MHz for AC. Is this forcing my N clients to connect to the 2.4GHz radio? Or is does it...

    asuscomm DynDNS double-nat problem

What is the upstream NAT? Are you in control of it? If it's a wireless router/modem combo from an ISP it's be easiest to just call them and have them set it for bridging and eliminate the double NAT. So it would just act like a modem and not a router/firewall.

    Beamforming

Hate to bring up an old thread but, what was the suggestion here? Disable both Beamforming options for 2.4GHz and enable 802.11ac Beamforming for 5GHz and disable universal on 5GHz?

    Optimum Settings?

The correct answer is Toyota :P
  15. T

    Optimum Settings?

QoS can substantially reduce bufferfloat, which decreases lag time. Set the up/down manually to 90% of you maxes. Don't use AiProtection myself. Can't speak to it.

It also links to descriptions and discussions on the varies settings so you can make an informed decision on what you feel is the best for you. Based...

    Reset DHCP Client List Names?

Awesome thanks. Worked perfectly. For anyone interested. "nvram show | grep some_name" (a custom name you named something) returned "custom_clientlist" as the variable "nvram unset custom_clientlist" "nvram commit" Clears all custom entries.

    Reset DHCP Client List Names?

Is there a way to reset the DHCP client list names to the given defaults? I added custom ones and would like to reset them. Or is a factory reset needed? Thanks,
