Got me. You should be getting test speeds closer to those limits. It's like you're bypassing the QoS entirely for some reason.

Is GameBoost enabled?

Yes game boost is enabled.

Well same thing with game boost disabled.

So If I disable game boost, by default it turns QOS off? Gonna pick custom and see what happens.

Update: so after picking Custom under Adaptive QOS, I still get the same result on my speedtests??

Maybe it really does not work at all, I dont know what it could be. I really doubt it could be Merlin's FW, his stuff always works correctly.

Sounds like you need to enable the LAN Boost option on the GameBoost page for the Adaptive QoS to function properly.

Yeah have done that.

Thanks good read, so I guess its a bug then, hopefully they will fix it??
Hopefully. Or it maybe the intended function, it's just not the way we think it should work.

Who knows. @RMerlin may know better about how it's working in the background with GameBoost.

True.

Thanks for all you help and advice Therion87, I really appreciate man.

Ultimately, I had to switch to a different router (pfSense) because of the inconsistent QoS. Upload QoS seemed to work but, just as you experienced, the download QoS was not working as expected.

Though, for most setups, upload QoS is the most important.
