    RT-N66U intermittent 5Ghz Performance Firmware 3.0.0.4.376.1071

I recently had a similar issue with the latest firmware (merlin, using SDK6) where my WGA600N would lose connection on the 5ghz band. I found that moving to an older SDK5 firmware has fixed the issue. Perhaps try an older firmware?

    Where can I download 3.0.0.4.276 for N66U?

I understand the use of the old firmware. I too want to experiment with it and see if it improves stability with my older devices.

    Where can I download 3.0.0.4.276 for N66U?

Is there an official location where I can download this? I've found copies on sites like softpedia, but I'm always skeptical of 3rd parties. Is there anything official from ASUS or merlin, or is something like the following safe? Thanks...

HTC Incredible 2 loses has wifi, but no connection on .372.31

I've been playing with various versions and found that .31 works best with my devices, but noticed one older HTC phone seems to lose connection after a day or so. It's 2.4ghz N and when it loses connection, the wireless icon still shows it's connected, but it cannot access anything. I remember...

    Downloading legacy firmware? Archive?

    It's a B1 version.

Best firmware/version if using solely as WAP?

I use my RT-N66U solely as a wireless AP and switch. I'm using Merlin's .40, but not sure if I should stick with his (or go latest) or use one of the stock firmwares for a change. I don't use any special features and all I care about is wireless performance and stability. Not really having any...

    Downloading legacy firmware? Archive?

I want to experiment with some older versions of the firmware, particularly for RT-N66U. The oldest on ASUS's site is 3.0.0.4.374.720. Is there an archive somewhere? Thanks.

Using N66U as WAP. Any benefit in upgrading from .40 to .43?

Thanks. I was mainly curious if there were any driver updates in the newer builds that include performance-related fixes/updates.

Using N66U as WAP. Any benefit in upgrading from .40 to .43?

I'm using the N66U simply as a switch and AP, not a a router or using any advanced features. I care only about wireless performance on both bands. My .40 seems fine, but is there anything to gain, as far as wireless or other network performance, by going to .43? Thanks.

    Asuswrt-Merlin 374.40 is out

I actually had this happen for the first time a couple days ago. It was as if I crippled it.

Wireless crawled, then couldn't access UI on RT-N66U w/ .40

No. The only log I'm aware of was cleared when I did a restart. I'm not familiar with other forms of logging to a file on this thing.

RT-N66U on 374.40 reboots during large SAMBA file transfers...

I had a very similar issue before before where large transfers across the LAN caused the router to lock up and I had to reboot it. It was completely random, but about half the time it would lock up. Turned out to be a faulty NIC on one of my machines. I forget the term for it, but it was...

Wireless crawled, then couldn't access UI on RT-N66U w/ .40

Not sure what happened, but I decided to update all 6 of my windows 8.1 machines at once :D, so there was a bit of network traffic and a few machines rebooting. All of a sudden, wifi came to a crawl, then picked back up, then noticed I couldn't get to the UI - it just hung as it tried to...

The title / header bar keeps falling and I have a red glow from behind it.

LMAO. That is the funniest thing I've seen. You literally broke it.

Is a rare timeout from a ping on 5ghz normal?

Ok, so I'm off work and geeking out over my pinging here. I set up my old 5ghz Linksys AP and connected one of the laptops to it. I downloaded PingPlotter, am running my script, and letting a ping.exe run all at the same time (crazy, right?). I've noticed that even on a completely...

Is a rare timeout from a ping on 5ghz normal?

Not sure if that applies to me, though. In my case, I'd be getting back onto the same bus. Also, external DNS shouldnt be a factor here. I'm pinging internally only. Thanks.

Is a rare timeout from a ping on 5ghz normal?

Sorry to bring it up again, but I've noticed something. I've been letting my script run again, but noticed that the last two times a ping to a device timed out, it was on or right around the DHCP lease renewed. So, even if the IP stays the same, when the lease is renewed, could it cause a...
