ASUS ROG Rapture GT-BE98 possible with ASUS DSL-AX82U (modem only)?

I did not see this edit, so my apologies for that. My last post links an ASUS page that seems up to date, but does not list the DSL-AX82U, so I was worried that they did not provide the same function. Enabling PPPoE Relay is the first method mentioned. Definitely give that a try. I am...

Which WRT 5 mesh node for RT-AX88U Pro (RT-AX86U PRO, GT-AX6000 or other)?

You may or may not be aware that both models that you mention GT-AC5300 and RT-AX92U have been included in ASUS' EOL list, meaning officially losing support. I believe Ethernet Backhaul mode will allow you to use the bandwidth that is otherwise reserved for backhaul with the caveat noted, but...

Which WRT 5 mesh node for RT-AX88U Pro (RT-AX86U PRO, GT-AX6000 or other)?

I believe your understanding is correct. Preferred sets Ethernet as "preferred" but allows self healing, if you accidentally disconnect an Ethernet connection the dedicated backhaul that is kept in reserve immediately keeps AiMesh working between the disconnected node and network. If you...

Which WRT 5 mesh node for RT-AX88U Pro (RT-AX86U PRO, GT-AX6000 or other)?

It is my understanding that 3.0.0.6 is ASUSwrt 5.0. For some reason ASUS documentation on setting up AiMesh refers to preferred wired backhaul and not Ethernet Backhaul mode. From personal experience once in a while in this EBM if a node somehow loses connection upon reestablishing Ethernet...

ASUS ROG Rapture GT-BE98 possible with ASUS DSL-AX82U (modem only)?

Also don't try for hours, if something was miscommunicated, and it doesn't work, try to come back and explain what you did, or if you can take screenshots or pictures of the settings...

ASUS ROG Rapture GT-BE98 possible with ASUS DSL-AX82U (modem only)?

Newer ASUS routers use private IP addresses starting with 192.168.50 . Older ASUS routers (my first purchased in 2016) used 192.168.1 . There's an issue if you have what's called a double NAT AND there's what's called an IP conflict. Different brands deal with this in different ways. ASUS...

    GT-BE98 Vs Pro model

The GT-BE98 has extra throughput via 5 GHz-2 (quad band). The GT-BE19000 is more comparable to the RT-BE96U, but ROG/Gamer oriented.

ASUS ROG Rapture GT-BE98 possible with ASUS DSL-AX82U (modem only)?

I deal with non-native English speakers all the time. Thanks for letting me know that English isn't your primary language...

ASUS ROG Rapture GT-BE98 possible with ASUS DSL-AX82U (modem only)?

The goal is shift provider data to the GT-BE98, because that is router function. The modem just provides the IP address to the router, (and likely DNS servers).

ASUS ROG Rapture GT-BE98 possible with ASUS DSL-AX82U (modem only)?

DSL-AC82U (LAN1) > GT-BE98 (WAN) Then the PPPoE needs to be set on the GT-BE98 with what your ISP requires. You are passing the router function to the GT-BE98. The MOdem function is to MOdulate/demodulate the signal.

WiFi 7 Wireless Backhaul Issues with GT-BE98 Pro Routers

Asus GT-AXE11000 and RT-AX86U any Firmware update?

I get the feeling upgrading to 5.0 was a plan that they then changed their mind. New firmware is available, 3.0.0.4 though....

Issues upgrading to the GT-BE98 Pro

Sorry this option wasn't made aware to you. If possible wire the nodes with a non-managed network switch, or more than one...

WiFi 7 Wireless Backhaul Issues with GT-BE98 Pro Routers

5000 Mbps is very fast. It depends on distance between them, how far are they from each other?

ASUS ROG Rapture GT-BE98 possible with ASUS DSL-AX82U (modem only)?

Only one connection, WAN, should be made between the two. (I would save the 10 Gbps port use/try the 2.5 Gbps port labelled WAN/LAN). Check this explanation: https://superuser.com/a/1757990/2229410

    rt-be88u iMesh configuration

I thought I responded prior, but yes per the product web pages this is a reasonable expectation to work that way.

ASUS BE Routers question for my setup.

I personally keep 6 GHz on a separate SSID currently. I feel the current ASUS implementation of MLO to tie up one too many bands. Like you I have very few WiFi 7 devices, well if you have 2, I have only 1. Bottom line is you will reap benefits within the WiFi range of the BE router. The AX...

Must have gotten a lemon of a RT-BE96U

"Things just work..." I like that. I'd still be using my RT-AC68U if ASUS didn't put it on the EOL list. With its long antennae it provided WiFi signal a significant distance in front of our house. Just getting the new BE products to work as we think they should can be an ordeal, and the...

Must have gotten a lemon of a RT-BE96U

Alright, let's compare... How much was your set up, when you purchased it? I'm sure what you bought is not as expensive now as it was back then. Neither is the AXE16000, it is priced less than what I did pay for back then. YES, it did not work with my son's $3k MacBook Pro 6E when he...
