    Anyway, channel 116 apparently is not the best channel (see image) as it might be affected by weather surveillance doppler radars. If there are no other wifi networks using the 5 GHz band, you could try setting 100 as the 5 GHz-2 channel.

    I'm using my Asus router in AP mode and have a professional multiwan firewall/router, so I can only suggest some general settings. First, assign a static IP (outside the DHCP range) to your PC and set the preferred WAN for this IP (of course if your router has this type of dual wan options)...

    How many external antennas have your desktop network card? If only one or two maybe its available MIMO configuration is not on par of your laptop antennas that are usually optimized for MIMO inside the latest notebooks with wifi 6E
