    If I understand the OP correctly, the modem/GW is already on 192.168.2.x, so no need to change the modem's IP network.

    Just to be sure, did you reboot both devices? The router is plugged into the gateway on a LAN port? I use their gateway without issue using IP Passthru.

    So this export/import is all local to the router, right? These files survive after a firmware update and reset? I guess the folder you are at when you SSH in is not touched?

    @jksmurf how do you use WinSCP to transfer files in and out of the router? I thought the software needed on the router had been removed (or otherwise transfer was blocked) in the newest generation of firmware (like for your RT-AX86U Pro).

    First, you "think" you know the ONT's IP address. Know for sure. Second, not sure why you need a route for it; I can get to my AT&T NOKIA GW w/o any special router config at http://192.168.1.254/. What is your ASUS router's network address?

    What does the router say your WAN IP is? Just to be really sure, you have your router WAN port connected to your ATT gateway? Can you access other .gov websites?

    bennor, I'm confused by this. If you put the GW in passthru then you are removing the GW and not the ASUS router. He did say he already bypassed the router and connected directly to the GW.

    Pro gives you a newer platform = longer time before EoL, and it gives you VLAN configuration. Hardware specs can be found online. (FW 3.0.0.6 has network templates to help config new networks; don't know if 3.0.0.4 has the same.)

    AT&T fiber with home phone service?

    Follow-up: The RG has a dedicated phone system connection built into it. The tech plugged the house phone system into it (just like the old modem was) and it worked. No changes or special config needed.
