Monitor data usage per device - Nighthawk R7000

Curious if someone might have a better suggestion on doing this. I was disappointed to find out the stock firmware can't do this and so far the only way to accomplish seems to be installing DD-WRT on it. Are there any other alternatives? I really don't do much on my router so ideally I'd...

Is the Netgear R7000 right for me?

Looking to buy a new router and ready to make the jump into AC. Based on this site's 2015 buying guide, and my own research, AC1900 seems to be what I need. While the price of the R7000 is a little higher than I'd like, I want to make sure I get a router that works for me. Definitely need...

Need some advice troubleshooting slow Internet - RT-N56U

3.0.0.4.378.4850, just stock firmware from ASUS. Bandwidths are 20/40MHZ with channels set to auto. Armstrong Cable, up to 30MB/s. Placement I now isn't great, 3 story townhouse, it's on the bottom level, but I feel like even when there the speed isn't great. Probably not 3 feet from the wall...

Need some advice troubleshooting slow Internet - RT-N56U

Looking for some general advice to troubleshoot internet speed via wireless. Speed tests with my ISP seem fine but I still need to compare with just the modem.

    RT-N56U: OpenVPN Question

I just saw something that it wasn't supported by Tomato, but that stinks on Merlin and DD-WRT as well. I didn't realize this router was so limited when I purchased it.

    RT-N56U: OpenVPN Question

I'd like to configure my router to use OpenVPN, and I currently have the latest ASUS firmware on it but it seems my only option for VPN is PPTP, which I'd like to go with something a little more secure. Is this model capable of doing OpenVPN? Do I need Merlin or DD-WRT?

RT-N56U and problems with a Summer baby monitor

I'm experiencing a lot of interference on my wireless, more specifically the internet just crawls and it always happens when my baby monitor is turned on. I would make it N only but I've got a few devices that only support G, plus I'm concerned I'd experience some degraded range by going 5GHz...

    Looking for some advice

One more question. What are your thoughts on the D-Link Dir-860L? It's only $99 on Amazon and most of the N600 routers seem to be at least $80. Seems like a good value.

    Looking for some advice

I have Linksys WRT54G that I've had for 8 years that's really starting to give me problems. I've been debating whether to buy the Asus RT-N66U or the Asus RT-AC66U. I know for now, the N would serve me just fine b/c I don't have any AC devices. The problem is I don't see the sense in spending...

Not sure what level of router to get?

I want to buy an AC router, I've been looking at the D-Link AC routers, but I'm not sure if a class 1200 router will be sufficient or if I should aim higher. The biggest thing I want is good range, and something that can provide good HD streaming. Any suggestions on how to decide on a class?
