    its not fair to call it lower end, its still a B53 based quad core and the 92U performs better than the BE 88/86 on WIFI total throughput.

    use a journaling file system such as NTFS or HFS+ on the usb and you won't have this concern.

    run the wizard up til the point where you select to run it as a node, and then it'll reboot and be visible to the node scans.

    it includes unique platform code specific to each model, it will only deploy the code specific to either one on the corresponding model.

    i think this is a bug in inadyn, it expects the ip to be in xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx format and can't handle xx.xx.xxx.xxx or xxx.xxx.xxx.xx or other patterns of combinations.

    negative, the size is just because this model has a v2 which uses a different cpu, the actual cause of your issue issue was that code signing changed between the release of the product and the latest versions of the firmware, the older firmware has no idea how to interpret the hashing schemes...

    Looks like a case of asus laziness, theres a new openwrt based implementation they could replacing the existing module with. I guess the new client could be implemented by @RMerlin, if enough people requested it, but its probably not on his radar and just something else that could go wrong...

    upnp does not "open nat" it allows the console to forward ports, and this is not generally needed for connecting to a remotely hosted service unless it wants to query your client ping using legacy butt backwards methods from the 2000's. You're not being booted from the lobby due to the nat type...
