    The wifi connection is showed as 1 to 4 bars in the network map -> list and in the device details available in the AiMesh screen. The full information about the device connections is available in the System Log - Wireless Log, which IMO is easier and more practical to use than checking one...

    This usually happens for all wired devices that are always reported as connected to the main router. Did you look for RSSI in the System Log - Wireless Log ?

    Many problems of identifying (and naming) devices might come from the wifi MAC address randomization option in the privacy settings of the device. Android devices apparently have this option enabled by default.

    4 pcs of XT8

    The problems with wireless backhaul connected XT8s is the main router XT8. I had the same problem with 6 XT8s (3 on wireless backhaul) . I switched to a GT-AX11000 Pro as the main router and in the latest 3 months I had no further wireless XT8s disconnection.

    I have some experience with changing this setting and using various 2.4 GHz devices (ex. small IoT devices). In my case I discovered that if one device is not able to get a connection better than that DB value, it sometimes might eventually become offline and need to be rebooted.

    You should better use one of the above IP assignment to avoid disconnections caused by periodic IP negotiations.

    If you are using the main XT8 in AP mode, you can use any 2.5 Gbps unmanaged/managed switch to interconnect all your XT8 nodes (even the main XT8 can use its 2.5 Gbps port in AP mode). I connect my AiMesh network in this way. Otherwise, if your main XT8 is in router mode, you can use any 1 Gbps...

    As I'm using the AiMesh in AP mode, no VPN settings are available on the main node. To connect to Internet I use a business grade VPN multiwan firewall/router.

    In my XT8 Mesh with wireless backhaul, on laptops with 160 MHz AX wifi card I have set their wifi cards to connect directly to the backhaul network, with no problems using this connection for these clients.:)
