1071 is old history, I already have 1088 merged on Git.

No, Merlin is working on the 44 release. If you look at GIT you'll see it is still in the Alpha phase.

So just be patient.
It will show up some time.

Merlin recently said in another thread he was working 12 hour shifts and was extremely busy and any new releases would likely be weeks away.

Been there and it sucks. The worst I did was 48 hours: 4 hour ground ops, 18 hr flight, 6 hr postflight/in processing briefings, 12 hour day shift for 12 hour only day, at hour 11, extended to 24 hour stand-up and I continued to sit for 12 more hours.

Is the 1088 older than the 1123 that was released today?

Probably, Asus sent me 1088 about three weeks ago. They should be sending me newer code sometime this week so I can work on it next weekend if all goes as planned.

Yes, by Asus's naming conversion, in the 376 branch of AC66U, 1123 is newer than 1088 but no GPL released yet. Let's wait for RMerlin's confirmation.

Oooops, a minute late.

IT work for me. I spent three days last week working at the office until 2 pm, then heading to customer's new office to do the Ethernet wiring. 33 cable drops total, I was coming home around 10 pm on these nights, hurting everywhere from all the ladder work.

Today, I was helping another customer move, reconfiguring their mail server for their new provider. And hitting a snag when that new location's router turns out to be managed by another company.

Wednesday, I got a VoIP deployment.

Throughout this I got a million of small things coming into my mailbox: mail accounts to configure for various customers, two new computers to configure on the LAN for another customer...

Next week, first customer is moving into the new offices I was wiring last week. Around 10 PCs to move floor, configure on the new network, etc...

Today I ate lunch at 15:30, while doing some forum browsing, and answering support emails.

Two more weeks before my vacations...

Any ideas when Asus will release new firmware for the 68U ? 5656 has been around for awhile now.

Eric, why do you do this? Lol. Seriously. You have done enough. We can all live with stock or dd-wrt if need be.
You keep saying you are going to take a break. Take like a year off of this.
I'm exhausted reading that post.

It's ok, just pre-vacation rush at work, it's not the norm. Things will slow down when I get two weeks off.

I still get weekends to tinker with firmware stuff. I do it mostly because I find it entertaining, as long I do things at my own rhythm. And so far I don't feel any pressure either to get anything done.

Meanwhile, I'm leaving almost all of the tech support to the rest of the community, since it's the least fun part of this whole thing. You guys are doing just fine handling that part for me now. :)

I hope they are paying you what you are worth. I know what it's like to be busy and/or overwhelmed.

My guess is, not until the new QoS/Parental Control stuff is done, as I suspect Asus might include these into future FW releases for the AC68/AC56. That's just my opinion tho. What I know is that Asus is still working on that part of the firmware.

Is 1088 an Asus stock firmware soon to be released?

No. It was internal source code Asus sent me so I could work on the RT-AC87U. They are already past that version, having released an RT-AC66U firmware based on 376.11xx.
