I am stuck trying to recover ... It enters in rescue mode putting 192.168.1.10 as ip via ethernet but with the restauration utility it does not recognice it... the power led of the router is flashing so I think is in recue mode... but maybe another segment of ips?

Some bootloader versions will use the same IP you had configured, others will use the default IP (typically 192.168.1.1). Test by pinging the IP - you should get responses with a TTL of 100.

I have it configured when was working as 192.168.2.1 the asus connected to movistar router but in router mode... the internet ethernet from the movistar is connected so maybe trying with it disconnected ?

That is what should happen ( I have used it plenty of times over the years) but would not. Tried many times before I could start the rescue mode.
maybe you didn't hold reset long enough? I was able to force rescue mode just fine. I believe the cfe update a while back (increased nvram to 128K) changed the enter rescue mode behaviour. IIRC It used to enter rescue mode almost immediately after power on, but now you have to keep holding reset button after power on for 10+ seconds until power led starts flashing.

And, it also helps to unplug everything from the router too before attempting to go into rescue mode.

Asuswrt-Merlin 384.9
Merged with GPL 384_5329 (RT-AX88U)

Is Asuswrt-Merlin 384.10 merged with GPL 384_5640 (RT-AX88U)?

You obviously didn't read my post properly. I know perfectly well how to use rescue mode, I have used it plenty of times before and manage @ 21 other routers for friends/family/neighbours.

Simple fact , the router was showing all the led's rapid cycling upon boot with reset button pressed.

For the RT-AC87U make sure to NOT use port 1. That port is on the Realtek switch, and cannot be used for recovery.

If the router was set to 192.168.2.1, then set your PC to 192.168.2.100, to be within the same subnet.

RT AC-5300 dirty upgrade
Flawless so far!

@RMerlin

Boot time crashes resolved. I'm uploading a new RT-AC87U test builds with the changes, however I don't have time today to rebuild and test the RT-AC3200.

The issue was caused by dependencies conflict - odd that it only ocured with these two models however.

Flashed my AC87U to 384.10, working now. But I have strange bug, sometimes after reboot 5 ghz not work. Wireless log says it's disabled, in Tools tab Quantenna firmware is blank. Wireless tab not loading fully, and showing 2.4 ghz, 5 ghz and 5 ghz-2 radios, but changes cannot be applied. Same was on 384.9, never happened on 384.7_2.
What could it be?

Did you do a reset to factory defaults? Please links in my signature below.

I did then flash 384.9, this time reboot solve the problem.

The correct order is to first flash the firmware you want to use or test. Then, do a reset to factory defaults with a minimal and manual configuration. ;)

Upgraded our RT-AX88U to 384.10_Alpha2 No problems to report.

No issues with my AX88U's and AC86U. Thank you @RMerlin!

Now enter in rescue mode but hangs at 80% and fails to upload it to the router tried with both ips 192.168.1.10 and 192.168.2.100 ..... been all night trying with all disconected then connected only ethernet to pc all kinds of combinations and nothing... :( not sure if trying more times or rma....
