AC88U Range

Running the latest Merlin Alpha, but the Wifi range is no better than the Ac87U or Netgear R7500. (Same with stock firmware)

Any setttings that can be changed to improve?

The range should be pretty similar. We're at the limit of what the 5 GHz band can penetrate within the output power allowed by regional limitations.

You should not expect newer models having better range than older ones, you can always buy a wireless extender... Or use your other devices as repeaters.

If you haven't performed the relevant steps in the link above, you may want to give it a try to improve the performance to it's peak.
