I have an RTN66U and am just starting to play with the QoS settings. I see where it is easy enough to prioritize simple things like web surfing (HTTP port 80) but I would also like to add some priority for things like netflix streaming and streaming from my plex server to my Apple TV and Roku3. How would I go about building rules for Netflix and for Plex traffic? How can I identify that traffic?

well, i'm pretty sure netflix and most other streaming services are going to be hosting on port 80. to find out what specific devices are using you can either google it or install entware on the router and then use iftop or iptraf to watch the connections while they are in use.

Your other problem is that Comcast and most likely other ISPs are throttling Netflix traffic because Netflix generates so much goddamn traffic when it streams in HD. If you are finding that this is your case, then no amount of QoS is going to help you improve your Netflix HD streaming because your ISP is kicking it in the balls.

I actually have more trouble with pled than I do netflix. netflix is generally ok but i figured it was worth investigating.
