Anyone use Adaptive or Traditional QOS for your gaming needs?

How is your experience with the RT-AC87R/U QOS for gaming. I have TW for my internet and have 114 down and 6 up. I have tried the QOS for gaming and managing other devices, but I really do not see a diffrence using it and not using it??

What are your opinions on this guys, should I use it or just leave it as is???

Any tips would help.

Running FW 3.0.0.4.376 2769

Thanks guys.

Well if you know which devices need to have a priority I would suggest you go to traditional QOS to set priority.

I just returned to Adaptive to test out the Merlin beta version he just released and it seems to be identifying most of the applications that run on my network (VoIP, File Backups via Crashplan, streaming video, etc.) I haven't seen any impact to my gaming on the Xbox yet.

Adaptive is preferred over Traditional because it works with CTF (HW acceleration) enabled.

QoS in itself won't make any difference in gaming. It will only help if you have multiple clients accessing the Internet at the same time, and generating congestion. For example, someone running torrents at the same time you are trying to stream a video. It will ensure that the video gets priority over the torrent traffic.

Thanks for the reply Merlin.
