This firmware version is currently only available through the ASUS Router app. It does NOT appear on the support site at https://rog.asus.com/us/networking/rog-rapture-gt-be98-pro/helpdesk_bios/, nor does it show up in the router GUI when performing a Firmware Version Check.

Interestingly, my GT-BE98 Pro currently has version 3.0.0.6.102_34491 installed. The support site lists version 3.0.0.6.102_34508 as the latest and has removed ALL previous versions. If I perform a Check Update in the router GUI, it still indicates 34491 as the latest version. Depending on which of the three sources you check for ASUS firmware updates, you’ll get one of three different answers. Sigh…

Has anyone installed this firmware version yet? What is your experience with it? Does it appear stable? Is the AiMesh wireless backhaul stability improved? Using BQ16 Pros as mesh nodes, I was seeing disconnects every 15 minutes.

Because this router has different hardware revisions and the firmware containing drivers for all is now the minimum required version.

Yes, I have installed, For the first time I'm seeing the built-in speed test working fine :) Will report other updates after testing further

This version is now up on the support site with the following release notes.

*Please be advised that due to an architecture upgrade in AiMesh, we highly discourage downgrading to earlier firmware versions as it may result in connectivity problems. If you experience any difficulties, we suggest resetting the AiMesh router to its default settings and re-establishing the mesh connection.

Security:
Strengthened input validation and data processing workflows to further protect information security.
Enhanced AiCloud password protection mechanisms, safeguarding against unauthorized access attempts.
Enhanced device security through improved buffer handling in connection features.
Refined data handling processes, ensuring secure and accurate information management.
Enhanced file access control mechanisms, promoting a more secure operating environment.
Strengthened certificate protection, providing enhanced data security.

New features:
New "Network" page to consolidate main network and guest network pro for simplified management.

Bug Fixes and Enhancements:
Fixed MLO not working properly under Guest network pro.
Increase Guest network pro mac filter to 64.
Optimized memory management mechanisms, improving system efficiency and stability.

I'd be curious to know if this version improves overall stability. I found that this router was quite unstable with the 5/7/24 firmware release - so much so that it caused me to return it as it didn't feel it was in my best interest paying such a heavy premium for what I felt was a beta test.

Bugs/hiccups I experienced:

Adaptive QoS broke/not working
WAN drops/instability
Default IoT Network bands are locked to 2.4g and 5g only
MLO poor connectivity

Adjusting transmit power on 2.4g band to power saver bricks wifi entirely

I'd be happy to retry this router again down the line, as the sheer power and range of the router is better than anything else I've experienced, especially when it worked properly.

Because this router has different hardware revisions and the firmware containing drivers for all is now the minimum required version.
It is more likely that Asus removed prior versions due to the critical security vulnerabilities that were patched — Asus has done this in the past.

update
installed v3.0.0.6_102_37031 on my GT BE 98Pro v1
Rock stable for last two days , I have been testing with MLO enable with WiFi transmit power set to power save mode , all working for now and wifi is stable. (posted earlier I could not make this stable for more than 40min).My OnePlus 12 connected to MLO ssid and working fine.
Only issue am observing is the high DNS latency and sometimes its taking time to detect the internet for the connected devices.
Device got connected quickly but staying at limited connection for long time , then after about 3-5min status is changing to connected and internet starts working.
Mainly affected are smart tv / android phone , not an issue with WIn11 system.
Waiting for Merlin to release new firmware based on this codebase.
thx

Updated just today and noticed 2nd 6Ghz band on 20Mhz bandwidth even though setting is at 320Mhz. Rebooting fixed it but it's back to 20Mhz again. Seems like a bug.
Also, when setting up MLO it now allows only one SSID. Message comes up that you have to turn off MLO on the other of you try to setup more than one WiFi network SSID. When choosing the main SSID "MLO Front haul for clients" setting must be checked for MLO on main SSID. Setting also suggests 6Ghz-2 is not part of MLO(green start on the other 3 but not on 4th band) but I can confirm it is used as my Pixel 9 pro connects to both 6Ghz bands at once.

It looks like 320Mhz is just not working correctly on the 2nd 6Ghz band. Forcing it to 160Mhz stays on 160Mhz. I've tried disabling PCS as well as any auto setting and nothing keeps it at 320Mhz. It keeps dropping it to 20Mhz (lame). There is nobody around me using 6Ghz frequencies anywhere. I've scanned all available channels so it's not like there is something interfering.
Can anyone else confirm the issue?
