Asus RT-AC88U Asuswrt-Merlin 380.61

Hi Guys,

I read a lot around Asuswrt-Merlin and the reputation is really good. But I'm a beginner around that area. I invested in a Asus RT-AC88U but the software is bit creepy so to say. The firmware has changed a view times and actually I did the update to the newest version.

Version 3.0.0.4.380_3941.

Can I change from that version into Merlin 380.61 or do I have some risk to brick the router?
Is Merlin supporting Smart connect as well?

Just directly flash 380.61 on top.

All the features found in the original firmware are also present in mine.

I'm really a beginner and like to know how can I get a VPN connection established between 2 Asus routers. Both do have the newest image from AsusWrt Merlin. Is there any tutorial/guide how I have to set those settings?

Finally I managed to get PureVpn running, but I can't anymore reach the router GUI and do get the error message around "Error - Routing conflict!" What can I do or what have I to do?
