I’m done being a beta tester for ASUS.

You'll probably become beta tester with any other latest and greatest consumer product and even with some in prosumer and business class. Ubiquiti had big trouble with early U7 series APs, made hardware changes, multiple software fixes... it took months to make this thing work properly, for most...

I also have the same router with the same issues. Where did you get the beta firmware from?
I’ve checked through the router for beta firmware and nothing shows up.
Anyone else in the thread having WiFi bands dropping, lockups in the gui while changing settings or VPN IPsec problems? Would be interesting to know for sure and what version of the firmware they are on. Usually those things get reported on threads like these. Any other operational issues while we are talking about it?

I recently set up and configured two RT-BE92U units, and I’m genuinely impressed with their performance so far. While there’s always debate about 4x4x4 vs. 2x2x2 configurations, I honestly believe most people won’t notice the difference in everyday use. At my place, the improvements in WiFi speed and connection strength were immediately noticeable to everyone. I imagine most homes will have a similar experience.

I’ve split my WiFi networks into 2G, 5G, 6G, and IoT, and the setup has been working great. I haven’t had much time to test MLO yet but plan to explore it soon. The router itself is smaller than my previous GT-AX6000, and I’m seeing better overall performance. The 2.5G LAN ports are a fantastic addition, especially at this price point.

@RMerlin, are you planning to release Merlin Firmware for this model? Thank you.

I don't have any new model to announce at this time.

Just got mine BE92U and working fine for 7 days straight without any issues like others having. Wifi range coverage is much better than mine old RT92U.
But don't have tried on VPN which people's have issues with.
Just tried MLO on with separate 2,4, 2,4 IoT, 5, 6 ghz and MLO 5/6ghz.
No random reboots, cpu core pegged all working fine 7 days straight.
Don't have any Wifi 7 or 6Ghz devices so can't say about it.

Asus has released a firmware update for certain regions like Hong Kong.

ASUS RT-BE92U Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_37435

Global website not updated yet. I'm not sure if the firmware is globally universal.

Curious if you can comment on the performance of the BE92U vs that of your GT-AX6000? Is the wifi range that much different between the two? I'm looking into getting a new router but most likely an AX88U Pro so the same as a AX6000. Not sure I really need a BE92U at this points but I'm curious:)

Mine has auto updated to this version.
I’m going to retest MLO stability over time.

Enabling Fronthaul MLO results in a password error which is consistent after power cycles.

I won’t be able to reset to factory defaults and rebuild my configuration until after the kids leave over the weekend.

If check with router and it say there is new firmware. Going to mine country website there are none. Guess its just slow rollut on different regions.

For the new firmware. I cannot test the router internal internet speed using 'Adaptive QOS - Internet Speed' any more, no button to start the test.

Have a low speed of 2ghz 5ghz and also 6GHz on my rt-be92u so yes should be above 500mb but is close to 300 and on rj45 cable it is above 500 but not on my router so I hope that asus will fix it this if it does,

Anyone else having problems with the wifi speed on the rt-be92u?

My home broadband is 2.5g. Samsung S23 Ultra WiFi6@5Ghz speed is around 1.3Gbps, Wifi6E@6Ghz is 1.8Gbps. Honor Magic V3 Wifi7@5Ghz(no 6Ghz supported) is around 1.7Gbps. I'm waiting for WiFi7 USB adapter to test for WiFi7@6Ghz speed. I guest it may over 2Gbps.

When I run Broadband check the internet, I get higher on rt45 cable, my wifi should be able to handle 500 mb per second as my wifi on my computer and phone has reception over 1800 so I think it's strange that 2.4 5ghz is not good then my old wifi had better speed than this one and 6ghz should work fine but doesn't, have notified asus and screenshot and some info so i hope it can do something or is this a flop router?

I don't know what to believe or because my wifi is now fully working this evening and could be interference or something else on my router I don't know ok I'm in the same place but yes I notice that the signal strength goes down and up o yes I wish that it was more stable on the signal strength

Anyone know a wifi 7 amplifier that might be able to help but hard to find something that has support for pray on wifi 7 so I would like to get hold of something that has support on the 6GHz band for a reasonably good price if it would help I would be more satisfied

Have a nice evening

I got the RT-BE92U for my parents now but occasionally I get a random loss of connectivity across all of my devices then it comes back after a few minutes. Not sure if it’s because I enabled ipv6 or the qos settings or the TrendMicro security service or MLO which is odd because the previous SBG7600ac2 didn’t have this issue or even my RT-ax58U at home didn't have these issues and lots of these features are turned off out of the box. Trying to pin down if it’s the new modem causing the issue or the new router. Modem is ES2251 from spectrum if it helps. I tried checking the modem diagnostics page but spectrum locks it out and makes it inaccessible.

I had a similar situation a few days ago where phones and tablets weren't working but my laptop was for some reason and the inbuilt speed test on the router was working fine but phones were not working and eventually connectivity came back. Not sure if it's a bug or something I set up wrong.

TP-Link has a RE655BE range extender. I have a RE815XE extending from a GT-AXE11000 at our other home. They work by linking each band so 2.4 to 2.4, 5 to 5, and 6 GHz to 6 GHz, then broadcasting an extended signal. Or you can set it as an Access Point with wired backhaul/ethernet.

Also there are lots of Amazon reviews describing similar things I’m facing except they have random reboots or high cpu usage not directly mentioning random loss of network connectivity when sorted by newest so idk if it’s a firmware thing or not.

@jimmysofat6864 I have always left QoS OFF and never recommend it. It tends to reserve bandwidth meaning slower speed test results. (One time it was inexplicably turned ON and I was wondering why speed test results never reached my maximum ISP speed). I know it should not be related but maybe try turning QoS OFF as a test to see dropping decreases...
