I was having the same problems with .260 and i contacted Jeremy. He recommended reapplying the firmware and configuration. I did that and it seems to have solved my problem.
You reapplied the firmware using the Web GUI?

Oh really? So you can't downgrade from the GUI?!?!? thanks

I read that turning off the b/g protection might solve the issue with .260. I will try this before downgrade...

you can, but if you having trouble downgrading/upgrading the firmware, using the rescue utility is an option. =)

Does it como from Asus ?

Yes it comes from asus. Dont use it if u have so much concern. It wont brick anything. Use it, if it fix yr problem, id be happy to be thanked. If u r not, too bad.

Thanks !

I will try and post the result here later. Just two more thinks:

* The wifi issue is fixed with this beta version ? And what about NTFS external drive ? This firmware can read it ?

Bye.

Problem with RADVD on RT-N56U

Running 3.0.0.4.318 on my RT-N56U and getting:

I am using tunnelbroker.net and the 'tunnel 6in4' mode and have most things working (I can ping v6 addresses on the network from the device - and statically configured devices on my lan). however, when I enable "Enable Router Advertisement" - I get the following in the log file and auto configuration of nodes on my LAN fails:

Code:
Dec 27 23:15:55 radvd[2048]: syntax error in /etc/radvd.conf, line 16: 2001:470:20::2
Dec 27 23:15:55 radvd[2048]: error parsing or activating the config file: /etc/radvd.conf
Dec 27 23:15:55 radvd[2048]: Exiting, failed to read config file.

(2001:470:20::2 is the DNS address specified by tunnelbroker.net).

I used telnet to get onto the RT-N56U and looked at /etc/radvd.conf :

Code:
interface br0
{
 IgnoreIfMissing on;
 AdvSendAdvert on;
 MinRtrAdvInterval 3;
 MaxRtrAdvInterval 10;
 AdvHomeAgentFlag off;
 AdvManagedFlag off;
 AdvOtherConfigFlag on;
 AdvLinkMTU 1480;
 prefix 2001:470:xxxx:xxx::/64
 {
  AdvOnLink on;
  AdvAutonomous on;
 };
2001:470:20::2 {};
};

(I have obfuscated my prefix here..)

It looks to me like the firmware is creating a malformed /etc/radvd.conf file. I think the line should be:

Code:
RDNSS 2001:470:20::2 {};

Can you confirm this? This is preventing me getting IPv6 working properly on my LAN. Anyone got this working?

Thanks,

Michael.

I just got an email from cl-jeremy from Asus that said that Asus is aware of IPv6 not working in .318, and would fix it in the next firmware release.

So don't worry about it too much if you can't get it working in .318...I found that IPv6 does work in .206, and it seems pretty stable if you need a release to use for a while until the next one comes out.

Thanks RogerSC. I put .206 on there and it's working well now.

One more thing - it seems that the device blocks all incoming (from the Internet) IPv6 traffic (good thing as a default) - but how do I allow specific connections in?

I have a host on my LAN with a static v6 address running an SSL web site (it's published via a NAT rule on IPv4). I need to allow IPv6 connections thru the router to the static v6 IP on port 443. Anyone know how I do this?

Michael.

Hi,

Can I use this firmware on the RT-N65U?

Firmware is very specific to the hardware for which it is written and compiled. I wouldn't try to use firmware for the rt-n56u on the rt-n65u, that wouldn't work.

Does this version support VLAN staff in Singapre Singtel

Hi,

In early version it support speciacl isp requirement such as Singtel (Singapore). May I know this new version still support or is a whole new release.

Thanks
Parry ( singapore)
