New Around Here
Hello everyone. I have an Asus AX660 XT8 router and I have a problem with two devices at home. The printer and air conditioning disconnect from the router after a few hours and can no longer connect again. I have to restart the router and the network settings of these devices to make it work again for a few hours. I have already tried to create two 2.4 and 5Ghz networks and the situation is the same. What could be the cause because the rest of the devices work properly. I also created a guest network but then these devices are not visible in the main network.

Hmm, dont we already had a thread about this? I cant find it. I would check the log first, and if it is not giving help, i would sniff around the DHCP, by checking MACs, IPs, fixing them to each other on the two problematic devices. "Dumb" devices can act wierd if they go to sleep and they get a different IP when they are waked up.

The printer didn't have this problem with the previous router I had. The problem started with the new one. About 15-30 minutes ago the problem started again. I'm sending the log.

From Merlin himself:
"I suspect you have a device or a program running on your network that's broken, and incorrectly interacting with the UPNP server, perhaps spamming it with forward requests."

Your printer or air con are spamming the network. Seems like time to check the traffic with wireshark, or just unplug one of them to see wich one is causing the problem.

But as I said before, it wasn't happening with previous router (asus as well) with the same devices.

Than test it again by putting back the old device. Check the log on the old asus for the "miniupnpd[4530]: accept(http): Too many open file" messages as well.

1. First log into the router’s settings.

2. Choose Wireless > Professional tab

3. Make the following changes:

-Modulation Scheme: Up to MCS 9 (802.11ac)
-Airtime Fairness: Disable
-Multi-User MIMO: Disable (Note that this was already disabled by default for me)
-Explicit Beamforming: Disable
-Universal Beamforming (5 GHz only): Disable

Click Apply button.
