Does anyone have the same problem as me after upgrading to 3.0.0.4.374.33?

I have both a Windows machine and a MacBook and a persistent ping will show the following:-

It will keep on repeating itself and I have intermittent internet access when the ping requests timeout. Have also done a factory reset and manually re-entered the configuration.

I cannot even hold a long enough session via SSH.

Anybody has any idea?

i am new to here forum> I just want to ask where can I download the file. for r merlin for rt66u. Thank you

See the sticky thread in this sub-forum for all the important links and information.

Most of AiCloud is either closed source, or obfuscated. This is outside of my control.

Yes Merlin i know, not blaming you for anything ....can you pass that defect to asus ? in case that they dont already know about it

Thanks Merlin for your effort!

Could someone please assist me with the following. Just installed the new Merlin firmware on my RT-AC66U. I did a clear nvram to be 100% sure. Got all the settings at factory default. My 2.4 ghz is operating. My 5 ghz too, only I can't find it with any device. After selecting to only use the 20mhz bandwith, it is visible and I can use it.
To my idea it should also operate when selecting the 20/40/80 option.

First of all, thanks Marlin :)

I found a bug in the http://yourRouterIP:8080/Tools_Sysinfo.asp page.

At first, or second, or sometimes third loading of this page, "CPU Load Average (1, 5, 15 mins)" show 0.00 0.00 0.00 And it's impossible ;)
After 3 o 4 reload, it begin to work showing correct values.

Yes, I see the same thing (load average of "0.00 0.00 0.00") using:

Code:
cat /proc/loadavg

on the router itself. So it isn't a bug in the "Tools" page, it is the router's kernel that's supplying the load average numbers. The "top" command shows the same values, I assume that it also gets it from /proc/loadavg, but I could be wrong there.

Anyways, this is not a bug in the firmware display of the load averages.

Merlin, I wrote to you on twitter but you did not understand me, I will try here to explain to you what is happening on your latest firmware.
There is a router RT-N66U, I ask for the firmware 3.0.0.4.374.33, did the hard reset, all set up, if you copy from the NAS, To the LAN over WiFi, speed of 40 MB / s as soon as I turn on the vpn server on the local network speed drops to 2 MB / s. Something like this.

If it's of any help, I went to use RT-N66U_3.0.0.4_374.33_0-sdk5 firmware and everything is so much stable now. The only problem is that whilst 2.4Ghz performance is about the same for SDK5 and SDK6, 5Ghz on SDK5 was half the speed of SDK6.

@Jgrana, and others who had problems with minidlna during the last betas: Could you guys test the minidlna-test2 build I uploaded to https://www.mediafire.com/#ftf9kjixr1a5f ? This build has Asus's code re-enabled, along with some memory leaks tracked down by another user.

Unfortunately this build still exhibits the out of memory errors as the previous, thumbnail generation builds. It starts with malloc fails in image_utils.c then out of memory errors in sql.c.
I did notice the free buffers start around 19600 then, over time, drop to 900 around the time the malloc failures started to log. Swap did go up - it typically sits around 2MB, I see it went to 6.3MB at some point.

You will have to check your configuration at both end of the tunnel. The router doesn't manage the connection, OpenVPN itself does. I know for a fact that the client works fine, there are people running 24/7 tunnels with it.

Considering all the other weird issues you reported in your initial posts where you are having trouble doing things such as resetting to factory defaults, I still suspect a problem with your browser or your router.

Do not think it is the browsers on this OS since they worked forever with your 24 firmware never a problem. If it was the browser then I would still be connected it would not be off and turning it on would do anything. It all started when I installed 32. Is the procedure I used to install 33 appropriate and could I have done anything else. This mourning the client is still turned on and we will monitor to see if it happens again.

Thanks

I tried it, but I didn't notice any difference with the version in the latest build of Asuswrt-Merlin 3.0.0.4.374.33. I still have the same error message in my log with the test build.

[2013/10/07 10:47:20] image_utils.c:419: warn: malloc failed

I don't know if that was supposed to be fixed with this test build, but I still get that message. Would it be possible to put the name of the file in this error message? That would save me so much time. Going over all my mp3's takes hours.

Ok, thanks for testing it.

Just noticed this in startup log. Now we know who to blame for all bugs. :D

Dec 31 19:00:07 kernel: All bugs added by David S. Miller <davem@redhat.com>

bill1228, it's about one of kernel modules, not the whole firmware. For the whole firmware blame Broadcom and Asus :)

You have to set it on the adapter settings on the computers you are using.

i have set it in my computer connection to auto negotiation, full duplex (10mbps, 100mbps and 1Gbps) and half duplex ( 10mbps and 100mbps). the problem still the same and still disconnected. I have checked my rj45 cable using network cable tester and it still fine.
