Has this bug been fixed in 374.41 beta 1? Thank you!

Yes, the bug, that prevented disabling individual clients in the Parental control page, is fixed for RT-N66U.

Hope I am not too late here...

As you work on future BETA and final release, what is the chance usb-harddrive re-mount option to be added onto webui?:D

Thanks,
/S

This would be handy, but there is something going on that is not making the mounting of USB flash drives (the only USB devices I am using) straight forward. I spent a good few hours getting a larger USB drive to be mounted and still don't know how I did it. Things that would work on a USB 2 16Gb drive would not for a USB 3 64Gb drive. If I had any hair on my head, I would have pulled it out in frustration.

24hrs and nice and stable on my 68u :)

I saw the tip on how to turn it off, but should OpenVPN Server be Running as a default anyway?

Thanks
Nathan

It shouldn't. It's a side-effect of how Asus handles VPN services in the stock firmware. It's been a few months since I looked into this, but from what I recall, when Asus integrated OpenVPN support into the stock firmware, they changed the way services were started. Basically, they have a setting that determines if pptp or openvpn should be started, and are mostly ignoring the OpenVPN switch that enables/disables it.

When switching to Asuswrt-Merlin without a factory default reset, then the OpenVPN server gets automatically started because, unlike Asus, I handle PPTP and OpenVPN servers separately (meaning you could even have both started at the same time).

So, this is caused by a stray setting left by the stock firmware. Not sure there's an easy way for me to resolve this, short of changing the nvram setting name, which would cause other problems (such as, OpenVPN server NOT being properly started automaticaly when upgrading or downgrading FW version).

Short version: this is a conflict between stock FW and Asuswrt-Merlin settings.

>> minidlna updates

Do you have a changelog please?

I ask as I have another strange problem. I used to be able to see normal views of files and folders in Windows explorer. I could create folders and copy files. Now I get the attached. Any easy way to get the old view back? N66U 374.41 beta 1.

I never used to see the stuff in brackets and have not seen the minidlna folder before. I have rebboted my PC, rebooted the router and assed the USB driver to the media servcer path without issue.

The USB drive is formatted ext2 and has been chmod -R 777.

UPDATE:- Maybe this is because the whole device is formatted as ext2 (/dev/sdb in linux) and not as a partition (dev/sdb1)? IIRC, it worked fine yesterday with regular folder icons. I could also create folders which I cannot do now from my windows PC.

Thanks

Probably on the Minidlna site. Asus upgraded from 1.1.1 to 1.1.2.

Maybe bug

Thank you Merlin for the new build.
I haven't tried this version yet, but maybe I found a bug in the previous stable version.

If I set any value in "Wireless-Professional-Tx power adjustment" in the webui on my RT-AC56U, I always got it back, when i check the setting in the command line:
admin@Asus:/tmp/home/root# wl txpwr1
TxPower is 127 qdbm, 31.75 dbm, 1496 mW Override is Off

If I set this value in command line with "wl txpwr1 -m XY", there isn't any problems.
I'm not sure that it's a bug, i just reported it.

I have a HP J4680c attached to the USB port on the router and after some time not sure when it can't communicate with the computer. I even rebooted router and installed printer driver. This is with version 3.0.0.4.374.39_0

I'm hoping this update will fix it. Anyone else having this type of issue?

Edit: even with this update it still can't find printer when I try to add thru win7 "add network printer" same with printer driver.

Hi All!

I've managed to run Asus RT-AC68U firmware on Linksys EA6900 by flashing custom Asus bootloader (CFE v1.0.1.6).
Now I really happy with Asuswrt-Merlin 374.41 Beta 1 firmware on EA6900. Everything works without any issues.

Thank You, Merlin, for best firmware!

First thing I want to thank Merlin for all that he is doing for the comunity.

Second, I just upgraded from 374.39 to 374.41 beta 1 and i see that Guest Network can access Intranet even if I set the option off. Does anybody else have this problem?

I think this was discussed in IRC recently, probably not the best of idea's and more then likely will lead to future problems as it isn't officially supported or recommended.

USB Modem (E372) fails to connect with 374_41 beta1

ASUS included needed driver for 4G high speed and E3276 above 20 Mbits, cdc_ncm, but they broke something else

Seems to be limited to HUAWEI-Modems: My Huawei E372 (DC-HSPA+ up to 42Mbps) is recognized, but cannot be connected ("Connect script failed"). Using my ZTE MF652 everything runs as it should...

Do you have an idea how to modify the connection script to manage the E372 connecting on the base of 374_40 Merlin build (with this one the E372 ran okay)?

Ciao
Gerald

How did you flash that? By custom, do you mean you modified it? Besides the Mac and PIN numbers?
