Just upgraded these two routers from 386.14 to 386.14_2: AiMesh router: RT-AC88U + AiMesh node: RT-AC86U/RT-AC2900.
Everything went smooth and both routers are working correctly.
Thanks RMerlin. 🙏

Asus AC68U, updated from 386.13 to 386.14_2 and everything seems to be working well. Accessing hard drive attached to the router is quicker and much faster than Asus OEM firmware.

Updated the AiMesh node (AC68U) to 14_2 - will see if that addresses this node crashing issues that I posted about here - link

Will update the main node (AC86U) to 14_2 in a week or two!

Did a dirty upgrade on my AC86U last night. No problems so far. Thanks for all your great work RMerlin.

3004.386.14_2 in like Flynn!
Dirty upgrade on a 5300 node.

I upgraded today and the problem I had with SSH connection lost has disappeared. Probably fixed by the security patch. Thanks Merlin.

What is the Security switch for on the firmware page/tab. It says a security file is updated and scans for malicious software. Is this an Asus or Merlin thing with it being EoL.

Thanks Merlin, smooth beautiful upgrade, thanks for going the extra mile on this relic.

Found one issue with firmware 14_2 on Asus AC68U.

When unplugging an external drive from USB 3 port, the router will freeze and requires to be power cycled. But it happens randomly. Only way to avoid this issue is to log in to the router and click on the option to safely disconnect the hard drive. In other words, "hot swap" is buggy sometimes, but shouldn't be a big issue for most people, plus the router is EOL anyways. Still a great router and i'll keep it as a back up for a while.

On the plus side, GUI is still working well, very snappy and no issues that I have seen.

Upgraded RT-AC3100 (AP), RT-AC3100 (Repeater), and multiple RT-AC68Us in Media Bridge mode from 386.13 to 386.14_2. No issues so far!
Thanks Merlin! đź‘Ť

Good operation of the AiMesh node for a few days - better than before, fewer disconnects.

I now also upgraded the main node to 14_2 - all looks good!

Thanks @RMerlin !!!

@RMerlin : Thanks for keeping these oldies, but goodies, somewhat up to date!

Updated my herd if AC68U/AC1900Ps on 11/24/2024. Rebooted after about 15 minutes. All appears to be well. The only log entries i see on most of them are the comings and going of wireless devices.

The only errors I see are on the two that have their radios turned off and that throws this set of error, which I assume are the radios being off...

This is the dcd process crashing. It's a Trend Micro component that is notorious for randomly crashing quite frequently - nothing that can be done about it, and shouldn't affect performance either.
