Asuswrt-Merlin on RT-AC68A still an option?

New Around Here
I have been happily using Merlin FW on my RT-AC68A router for quite a few months. I had stopped upgrading to the newest releases right around the time that it came to light that the AC68A was being shipped with crippled firmware from Amazon. I was happily on Merlins 380.58_0 and still am today. It has been rock solid as a matter of fact. I have avoided upgrading to any new releases for fear I may end up with a crippled unit and be unable to downgrade.

I have been out of the loop for quite sometime since then. I find myself back here reading through the threads and comments regarding this model and am even more confused. I see that the RT-AC68A is not really mentioned in the stickies as a supported variant of the RT-AC68U for Merlins custom firmware. I even see mention of avoiding the 68A all-together.

Can anyone comment if this model is still officially supported by Merlins Asuswrt-Merlin firmware? I would love to get back into the newest releases.

Thanks

That model is not officially support, that's why I never listed it on the list of supported models.

You might be able to get it to work, but you're pretty much on your own - I cannot guarantee it will always work properly.
