Three minor things:
  1. * Reminder: The System time zone is different from your locale setting. I had this before and it is wrong, I even cannot change the time in the GUI anyway, right?

  2. Let's Encrypt is only active when you're using the built-in DDNS, but I can't because Asus is to stupid to implement an optional external IP-Check. So it would be nice to give the domain-name once manually for Let's Encrypt to work.

  3. Wireless - WPS only available for 2,4 GHz.

382.2 beta 1 upgrade went very smoothly on my RT-AC1900P.

I was on Asus release 382.18881. All my settings intact. Just a regular home user, that enjoys Merlin’s extra data features and bug fixes.

Thank you, Merlin!

Hello everyone,

I have an asus ac68u with the alpha2 and had no problems, when I did the update for the 382.2.beta1 openvpn crashed, I can connect to the server but I have no internet and the vpn option is for internet and network. Did a downgrade to 380.69 and everything was fine again.

Someone had problems with the openvpn?

Thanks

What are the requirements for let's encrypt to work? I am using namecheap for my DDNS and when I try using Let's encrypt, it doesn't appear to do anything. Nothing in the logs either. Back to using a regular cert for now I guess.

Have you tried a factory reset? I know right!

Did you import any kind of saved setting? This is strongly discouraged.

No, I have generated and imported a new configuration file when I did the upgrade to beta. When I'm home again I will put the alpha2 again to see.

But it's very strange this issue.

Yeah don't import saved settings or config files. Make a fresh start. Use screen shots for backup purposes.
EDIT: For ovpn watch the use of " ' characters. I believe they are no longer accepted and cause the type of hang you have.

Ok, I will check and then say something. Thank you for your help

AC68U, after upgrade to RT-AC68U_382.2_beta1 I have the problem with backup WAN (USB). The Huawei 3372 isn't recognised well.
Syslog message is: `0x12d1 product=0x1506' invalid for parameter `vendor'
After command:
modprobe -vl usbserial vendor=0x12d1 product=0x1506
insmod option vendor=0x12d1 product=0x1506
the modem is recognised and connect to Internet, but Internet is access only from router, from LAN one time yes, another no, the routing table (main, wan0, wan1 are okey, butr routing and connection for LAN don't work stable)
ps. configuration for wan is with balancing (WAN1 - adls, WAN2 - lte)

Another problem with UPNP with chain FUPNP in iptable2:
Dec 31 00:32:02 miniupnpd[17674]: Failed to redirect 5992 -> 192.168.1.99:22000 protocol TCP
Dec 31 00:32:02 miniupnpd[17674]: add_filter_rule() : chain FUPNP not found

The first 382 version had the engine use ppp0 instead of eth0, which is why I switched to get_wan_ifname() in 382.1. Now if Asus reverted back to hardcoding it to eth0 for PPPoE, I might have to revert that change...

Anyone else with a PPPoE WAN that can confirm that their "tc qdisc" rules use eth0 and br0 rather than ppp0 and br0?
I believe that the issue also affects users of automatic ip not just pppoe, I tried to change my qos priorities and the issue was thrown up in the log.

rc_service: httpd 334:notify_rc restart_qos;restart_firewall
kernel: ERR[parse_qos_conf:932] Can't set new QoS conf while QoS is started!
kernel: ERR[ioctl_iqos_op_config:3592] parse qos_conf error!!
kernel: ioctl_iqos_op_config() fail!
ERR[qos_start:3344] QoS is already started!
kernel: ioctl_iqos_op_switch(1) fail!

Only Let's Encrypt. I cannot enable IPSec on that model, because the closed-source components are incompatible with it. It will have to be enabled by Asus (so they can recompile the Tuxera drivers against the new kernel configuration).

Open your browser console, and look for any Javascript error preventing the UI from loading.

Try restarting the QoS service to see if it's an initialization problem (I've had it happen on occasion on my RT-AC88U, the bug appears to be in the Trend Micro code as the tc qdisc rules don't get properly generated at boot time):

Code:
service restart_qos

Some variables might be missing, but in general most of it should work for the RT-AC68U.

I don't understand your question. You're talking about two different firmwares AND two different routers here.

Will the 66R in bridge mode with 380 FW work with the 1900P (main router)with 382 FW ?

I started a new server configuration. I can confirm there's no Internet on my VPN as well.
It was working on Alpha2. It seems internet redirect is broken in the RT-68u beta.

Any chance we can get rid of the annoying exclamation point or at least make it stop blinking (attached screenshot)? I just upgraded from 380.69 (AC68U) where this wasn't present before and after I restored my identical settings (from screenshots I created) it has returned. Minor yes, but it would be nice...thanks.

@RMerlin does this fix the slow down issue users were experiencing after a few hours with 382.1_2? It was on the rt3100.
My RT-AC3100 is fine. No slow down issues. I have it set to reboot weekly and have not noticed any performance degradation.
