hi lonelycoder. I installed this beta 2 over my 1.07. I had a previous entware installation which I used for install a couple of softwares through opkg. Now I can't use opkg anymore with this new entware installation... What's wrong?

You doing anything special with the root cert, I notice you are enabling https webui. Of course this can cause a cert error to users who have not imported the ca into their clients browsers. I see no mention telling a user to import any cert into their client(s).

Perhaps it is different on Asus Merlin (though I can't think it would be), as I am on DD-WRT at the moment.

I just ask, as it looks like you are enabling https auth (DD-WRT I can have http and https at the same time), installing entware, downloading the entware cert pack, downloading pixelserv via entware, and then converting the blacklist to lan_addr from 0.0.0.0.

Would you be so kind as to help me put the pieces together here, anything I am missing?

I had an issue where the postmount script endedup missing ln -nsf $1/entware /tmp/opt so entware so /opt wouldnt link and entware wouldnt run

Hi , with entware down, could you still use internet? or it was offline? what I like of this solution is that it works without entware, when I get entware corrupted and stops working I still have internet.
One of the reasons I stoped using dnscrypt is that when entware went down, all internet will also, nobody on the dnscrypt thread told me how can I use a failover DNS so I could overcome this issue, so I just use plain and normal opendns.
But when entware goes down, pixelserv will also go down, so can anyone tell me if Internet will continue to work, just without the pixelserv or will it go down also?
I will see if I have time to try out this this weekend.
Thanks

Internet still worked for me

Always have problems with AB Solution but managed to solve it this time on my own lol

I used this code to install

sh ab-solution.sh

Edit well I think it installed but when I enter this

sh /tmp/mnt/<your device>/ab-solution.sh

my device being sda1 I get the following error

sh: can't open './ab-solution.sh'
admin@RT-AC87U-7538:/tmp/home/root# sh /tmp/mnt/sda1/ab-solution.sh
sh: can't open '/tmp/mnt/sda1/ab-solution.sh'
admin@RT-AC87U-7538:/tmp/home/root#

everytime I run

sh /tmp/mnt/<your device>/ab-solution.sh

I get v 1.07 showing

First I set the Authentication Method to HTTPS

I download version 1.08 beta using

curl -O www.ab-solution.info/releases/beta2/ab-solution.sh

I then press i to upgrade

After I run

sh /tmp/mnt/<your device>/ab-solution.sh

and it still shows version 1.07

To top things of I can no longer access my router web page page now. All I get is

This site can’t be reached
192.168.1.2 refused to connect.

Try:

ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED

As it says in post #1: Copy ab-solution.sh to the root dir of your device.
On yours you can enter:
cp ./ab-solution.sh /tmp/mnt/sda1/ab-solution.sh

You need to access your router through https, as you have set your web access to it:

opkg manager is still available. What is your output of opkg help?

I wanted to try how the experience is with the root certs installed on the router. Seeing as it does not do much I probably leave this out in the final 1.08 release.

I'm flooded with this in my router's logs. Works fine otherwise. No iPv6 here.

I'm getting those too. Looking into it.

Can you post the relevant log entries from /<yourdevice>/adblocking/logs/Pixelserv-install.log?

You need to access your router through https, as you have set your web access to it:
https://192.168.1.2:8443

Thanks managed to install it successfully but I still cannot access my routers web page. I get this now:

Your connection is not private

Attackers might be trying to steal your information from 192.168.1.2 (for example, passwords, messages, or credit cards).

NET::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID
Automatically report details of possible security incidents to Google. Privacy policy

Additionally what does Pixelserve do exactly? Is it supposed to remove the grey boxes where the ads were? If so then it isn't doing that.

Your browser should have an option to add an exception.

Not all ads are images. Some js loaded ads still leave those pesky boxes.

ok the exception was added as I clicked on the Advanced link on Chrome and can access the routers main page but it's taking literally several minutes and I still cannot get into my routers GUI.

I know this causes more headaches than necessary. A @kvic -fix is coming with the next beta. It will revert back to http authentication.

hmm, i tested this and never got working with pixelserv....maybe i forgot yet how to setup to working....
