My self-compiled 384.10_b2 has been up and running 4 days now. Excellent build, @RMerlin !

For what it’s worth,
I have native IPv6, dns filter (blank, refer to router for dns), require strict DNSSEC validation, manually define dns (including Cloudflare), & have for a long while had my log levels set to ‘warning’.
Everything just works, no junk seen in logs......

I'm unable to locate the filter fields. FYI.

Just an FYI, still getting hundreds of these in the log. They don't seem to be affecting operation of the router. The dnsmasq seems to be a set of 3 varying numbers-317, 321, or 325:
Mar 14 22:47:45 dnsmasq[317]: failed to send packet: Operation not permitted
Mar 14 22:47:45 dnsmasq[317]: failed to send packet: Operation not permitted
Mar 14 22:47:45 dnsmasq[317]: failed to send packet: Operation not permitted

RT AC-5300
I am getting the same as you on the last release and hoping it would be fixed on this one. I am using the AC88U and even did a fresh flash and manually entering the settings and the issue still exists. It causes issues with my streams. I am using openDNS and have manual DNS settings. There have been a few with this issue and not sure if it's being passed to this release. My number this time is 313 but changes.

384.10 Beta 2 is now available.

Exceptionally, beta 2 does come with some new features, notably the reworked Classification page. In addition to performance improvements, you can now filter the list in real-time by entering part of a string in any of the filter fields (you can even filter two fields at a time). Also some extra info is now shown when hovering entry fields.

In addition to the details mentioned in the first post, please test the revamped Classification page as well.

Regarding the error messages generated by dnsmasq under IPv6: there are no new development. I am still unable to reproduce the issue, and I have no idea what is triggering it. I suspect it has to do with a recent change in dnsmasq. I might end up just moving the error message to debug priority for the final release for the time being.
@RMerlin , dirty upgrade over beta1...., Everything running great so far. Running openVPN, diversion, amtm, skynet and I'm running @FreshJR 's mod which I assume loads over your classification page if I read it correctly. If thats the case I would assume I wouldn't notice the changes you made to yours as it gets overwritten or mounted over?

Where before I was seeing around 775Mbps on upload, I just got a speed of 945Mbps. The first CPU core was pegged at around 97%, but this is a huge improvement.

There has been absolutely no change related to network performance in beta 2...

The 384_5640 merge for RT-AX88U looked pretty straightforward (aside from a small piece of code that was missing from my GPL tarball, and which I had to extrapolate), so I did a test build with that GPL merged in. Please give it a try, and if all goes well, I might include it in the 384.10 final release.

Thanks for posting this, still getting extremely high performance for uploads unless others report something similar it may just be my ISP that changed something on their end.

Just to let you know.. The log spam also happens on last Asus stable build release in December.. Older Asus stable build don't have such log spam.

All good here on 384.10_beta2 RT-AC87u

Hi

On 384.8_2, have not updated to 384.9 as I'm going to wait for 384.10 and do a reset.

Has the dcd crashes been fixed in the 384.10 ?

No, that's a ASUS problem. Merlin can't fix that issue.

No. That would require new GPL drops from ASUS -- the latest for the 86U is from early December.

Noticed following two changes for good on my ax88u after upgrading to 384.10 Beta 2.

1) System logs not reporting annoying logs WLCEVENTD: ASSOC & DISSOC that I was seeing every other second.
2) Considerable drop in CPU temp with about same amount of client connection than it was with previous version 384.9. It's staying around 66-67 whereas it would always be 72 and even goes over 75 few times. Obviously, rise and fall in CPU temp depend on the client connections, but still felt it shouldn't have been that high as it was.

Good to see its not happening anymore with build 384.10. Looking forward for the next one.

Thanks

Upgraded to beta 2 last night. This morning noticed attempted connections to VPN in the log. That is strange as I change the default port which stops that kind of probe. Checking the OpenVPN settings showed they had all gone back to default. I checked the profile I had used to successfully test beta 1 with yesterday and it showed the setting values I had changed including the port.
Something in the upgrade to beta 2 mess up the VPN settings? All else seems ok.

Edit: Ah, disregard the above. Seems that I had reset OpenVPN to default yesterday. Call that operator error or being rushed to go out on a shopping adventure... VPN did work well with the defaults.

Updated to 384.10_beta2_5640 No problems

I'm using the new test build for the ax88u and I still cannot set the wifi 5g channel to auto. If I do none of my devices can see the 5g network. If I select a channel there is no issue. Wifi will not work also with the new HE frames selected and or enabling the 160MHz channels as well. I'm petty sure this is a known issue but it was not addressed in the new build. I also have no sort bar as shown in the picture in first post. I have the same filter by bar and a drop down that lists all connected devices. No other issues at this point to report. Thanks for the Test Build Eric!
