Did you fully reset after install and manual configured??

ofcourse, factory default always done. not help, no ntp sync.

Hi

I know this is probably not the good place to report this.
I have tested 9.0.0.4_380_2295-g1423616 and the issue for the 2.4 ghz with wireless clients is still present in this beta, like GPL 1031 and firmware 380.1842
If NAT is disabled by something (ex: QOS,IP traffic monitoring,etc..) all wireless clients on the 2.4ghz cant acces Internet(wan)
Its simple to TEST: Disabling "NAT Acceleration" under SWITCH CONTROL in Lan section and 2.4ghz is broken
This bug is present since the 380 branch

I m using RT-AC68u REV A1

Plz dont tell me to send you some pics, or screenshots, because i know you already aware of this bug and you do nothing since the last two officials FW, and you going to do nothing again in the next one 380.2295.

PS: This router cost me 250$ can dollars last year and it is not fully operational now with your 380 branch, and im not alone

Question: Why did you always broke something in every firmware release you done?

Greetings and good luck

You're trying beta firmware and you're telling people how to respond?

Instead of attacking the people that may help fix the issues you're facing, try simply helping instead.

For example. After disabling QoS, did you reboot the router? Did you try different options that disable NAT acceleration and see if the issue remained? Giving more information (without whining about what you paid for the equipment) will get a suitable response faster than posts like this will.

After all, this is a beta firmware. Your job, if you choose to accept is to test and report bugs. Not just complain that it still isn't working.

This is a known bug 2 releases ago for RT-AC68U/P. The OP just want to remind ASUS that they have a reproduceable bug to fix. It's been awhile, do you see the frustration? Again, the site owner already reminded you not to moderate, let the ASUS people respond.

@bluepoint
this topic is for network map problems not for others bugs. For Your problem please report in official thread.

It is impossible for me to moderate. But I can still give my perspective and opinion, can I not?

Definitely you can say your opinion but not to a point where you're trying to lecture the poor guy. Be nice, it will go a long way. The guy have a valid reason to gripe although I must agree to @VANT, the post should have been done in the 68U thread.

I don't think I was lecturing? Sorry if it was taken that way.

And I am being nice. I offered constructive criticism and even an example of what might work.

Can't be too touchy feely though and still get a point across. ;)

I got a completely different take from that post. I thought that L&LD was actually trying to help Sanna1967 with specific and insightful suggestions on how to improve their own personal situation.

Or am I missing something?

I have to agree with L&LD on this one. Do not use Beta firmware if you do not like how it performs in any way.

For example. After disabling QoS, did you reboot the router? Did you try different options that disable NAT acceleration and see if the issue remained? Giving more information (without whining about what you paid for the equipment) will get a suitable response faster than posts like this will.
All good suggestions although the whining comment should have been omitted.

True, very true. If you do not like having issues then do not use Beta firmware and wait for a stable production release that fixes your issue. IMHO, Asus provides the best active customer support of all the major router manufacturers. Just get another vendor's product to see exactly what I mean.

You've been around in the forums and I'm sure you saw the NAT disable bug mentioned all over the place since the 380 branch was released for RT-AC68U/P and if I'm not mistaken you are a 68U owner? so it's impossible for you not to know the bug. Why do you need to suggest the above while you know it's been posted as a reproduceable bug by just disabling NAT acceleration(he even mentioned it). You assumed he doesn't know what he's talking about and accused him of whining.

You obviously didn't know the poster's problem, his post doesn't have to do with the BETA but is just worried this firmware 9.0.0.4_380_2295-g1423616 did not appear to have the NAT acceleration bug fix yet. His intention is to get ASUS's attention to the bug but unfortunately he posted it in the wrong thread.

My apology, the bold phrases wasn't intentional, no shouting here.;)

No problem, no shouting from here either, just having a discussion. ;)

His post does have to do with a beta. Any firmware that begins with 9.xx. is beta. :)

I just recently bought an RT-AC68U and no, I do not see that 'bug' with the latest firmware. Not everyone does, if I'm not mistaken. I am not doubting about the existence of that bug, nor was I offering a suggested fix. Please re-read my post, and the other post explaining it. No accusations and no assumptions on my part.

Simply trying to get the poster to adapt a positive approach to an issue he/she wants fixed.

Posting his report here was probably not the best place to post it, but his issue is very real (I can easily reproduce it here), and it happened with the last two non-beta releases. His concern is that the issue is being unnoticed by Asus since it's been present for about two months now.

Anyway folks, please leave the moderating to Tim (and myself when in the Asus sub-forums).

This Sunday is my brothers wedding. At Saturday we expect more than 200 people to drop by the house for a small party.Im thinking opening 2 guest networks so everyone can stay connected. Will the router handle these connections?Should i use this BETA or go for the official one?It would be a nice experiment :)

Hi Athanasios,

Happy wedding to your brother:).
If you need a stable networking, we suggest your using official firmware.

This beta firmware is aiming at client list enhance and fix some bugs from networkmap daemon.
If you guys have any problem about networkmap, we will reply here and move forward to fix then release beta firmware.

Thank you!

Sincerely,
Rawny

Congrats to your brother!

I would be curious to see if the RT-AC87U can handle this load (I think not too well though).

If the Beta has been stable for you so far, that is the version I would test with. But ime, anything over 50 clients per radio band is asking for trouble (depending on what those clients are doing too).

Come back with your report. :)

Thank you for your wishes.I know its a terrible thing to say and i should be more excited for the upcoming wedding but tell you the truth im thrilled for the opportunity to test my router under heavy load.Everyone will be downstairs celebrating and ill be upstairs with few friends opening champagnes each time the router hits +10 more clients.Guess im more geek than i thought i was.Ill go with the official (3.0.0.4.378.9460) first just to see how stable is cause BETA is always BETA.Saturday morning ill hard reset everything to be fresh and ready ill switch qos to web browsing.Hope when the square dance starts and everyone is busy/dizzy ill be able to switch firmware to BETA one(depends also how sober would i be).Nothing to proove here about the router its just an expirement.
