Diversion Diversion - the Router Ad-Blocker

Did you use amtm to install Diversion? Are all scripts and Entware up-to-date?

Is Diversion enabled? Which website(s) do you use as a test? What adblockers are you using?

Does enabling Diversion Standard w/pixelserv-tls block those ads? Lite is too 'light' for me.

I have been disabling ad-blockers and going to website to see if ads are currently being blocked. All ads appear.

I used pi-hole for a bit but wanted to get a built in solution.

Make sure there are no DNS servers configured on the LAN / DHCP Server page. Then make sure that LAN / DNSFilter is either disabled or set to Global mode = Router.

You just need to make sure your clients and their browsers are using the router as DNS.

1. Update router to Merlin Firmware Version:384.13
2. Fomated USB stick on pc to ext2 AOMEI Partition Assistant Standard Edition 8.6
3. went into router settings Enable JFFS custom scripts and configs to yes.
4. installed putty and installed Diversion via
curl -Os https://diversion.ch/install && sh install
5. Could not install pixelserv because my DHCP IP was not registering despite me changing it. So i installed the diversion lite.
6. After successful, I rebooted the router.
7. closed Firefox and opened window disabled u-block origin. Ads are still present.

Still no dice unfortunately. I have a feeling somethings a miss after install.

Im not using a pi-hole anymore. how do I go about changing dhcp to point at router? Is this essentially changing my IP Pool Starting Address?

What are your dhcp start/end addresses in LAN / DHCP server?

Dave, you're on to something. My firefox browser was using doh. I disabled it and it looks like lite is now working. Still having issues with upgrading to standard:

IP starting address 192.168.50.2
IP Pool Ending Address 192.168.50.254

when I change starting address to 102.168.50.3 I get:
192.168.50.3 is not a reserved address

Edit: Just checked mobile phone, looks like still receiving ads through firefox browser. Had DoH enabled on this as well but disabled still no dice.

Change your starting IP in the GUI to .3, then enter .2 as your Pixelserv IP.

Looks like I had a DNS entered in my phones settings that I forgot about. Ad block now works on the phone! Now to try and get standard to install.
