after I install Diversion, i get this in logs every 10 minutes.

Oct 8 16:47:32 lldpd[438]: removal request for address of 142.113.36.57%7, but no knowledge of it

Running later firmware 384.7 on a RT-AC3100
Apparently, lldpd is used for iMesh which is not used/enabled in Asuswrt-Merlin.
Just ignore it, it has nothing to do and is not caused by Diversion being installed..

it only shows when I have Diversion installed..
Well AMTM installed and Pixelserv and Entware, lol

Quick question; I've been using ab-solution for well over a year and last week upgraded to Diversion. I used Shooter2w's blocklist in ABS, and figured the amount of rough blocked domains number equals to about the same as the Diversions medium list so I picked that. Now im having all kinds of problems on my cellphone with loading facebook and other social medias. Why did you remove shooters? It worked so well... And you have the option to disable certain blocklists but it only lists some of the lists in use? say i use Large, it won't let me disable malalas (or whatever its name was that blocks literally everything). Actually thinking about uninstalling and going back to ab-solution because currently this blocks so much that it would take too much time to whitelist it all or even figure out what to whitelist... Never had to whitelist anything with shooters and still it removed all the ads I wanted. Just thought this new one would be an improvement, but hard to try it when it doesn't do its main goal, no? Sidenote I absolutely LOVE ab-solution (and probably what you're trying to do with Diversion, but please fix the blocking files? (throw in shooters list as a mid or secret alternative?)

It sucks having to use "standard" which blocks what? 60k hosts when shooters blocked 200k ish? (if i remember correctly?)

Use b, 1. Change composition, 2. Customize hosts list.
Remove the two existing hosts lists and add these shooter40sw hosts:
Code:
https://someonewhocares.org/hosts/zero/hosts
http://winhelp2002.mvps.org/hosts.txt
https://pgl.yoyo.org/adservers/serverlist.php?hostformat=hosts&showintro=0&mimetype=plaintext&useip=0.0.0.0
https://hosts-file.net/ad_servers.txt
https://hosts-file.net/emd.txt
https://hosts-file.net/grm.txt
https://hosts-file.net/mmt.txt
https://www.malwaredomainlist.com/hostslist/hosts.txt
https://adaway.org/hosts.txt
All done.

Thank you very much! Would have taken me a long time to figure that out, even tho its so simple... Appreciated.

Sidenote: When I installed Diversion I wanted to do a clean install. So I deleted ab-solution and went on the flashdrive and deleted all the folders there. When I then tried to install Diversion it gave me the error that it couldnt find the /jffs/scripts/ folder. I then had to go back install ab-solution to get that to create the folder (I guess thats what it did) and then uninstall ab-solution and install diversion. Then it worked like a charm. But I guess this might be part of the "havent had time to fix/make yet" since its a rework, just figured I'd point it out.

And since I'm a noob, is there a noticeable downside to having several hostfiles instead of a few big ones? (I'm using the AC5300)

Hi thelonelycoder

A bug I think on checking for duplicates in your code. When https://hosts-file.net/emd.txt is entered in the list it will not allow you to subsequently enter either https://hosts-file.net/grm.txt OR https://hosts-file.net/mmt.txt - it says "The entered hosts file address is a duplicate of an existing entry" .

Cheers
Joe

You have plus hosts enabled for Skynet. This file is already in that separate list. It should show you the content of this file greyed out when you edit a blocking file type.

Diversion would have done the uninstall of AB-Solution for you and not NUKE the jffs/* file system. Which you should not do manually, use the Router UI to format the jffs partition next time.

Diversion uses unified hosts files for most of its blocking file types. These are an amalgamation of most of the hosts files that AB-Solution used.
No need to separately download 5 hosts files when it can be downloaded as one file and is curated by someone reliable.

thanks for the explanation

There is some known issue when using Diversion+Pixelserv with astrill plugin
What issue are you seeing? Can't help as I'm not using it.

I am using astrill plugin but wants to install Diversion and my question is if there is some problem using both. Astrill use resolv.dnsmasq
Only one way to find out. You can uninstall Diversion and Entware easily if you find it causes problems in d.

How do I get to main menu from Telnet now?
sh /tmp/mnt/<your device>/ab-solution.sh
no longer works with Diversion
my device name is sda1 which I replaced with <your device>

Should be able to type Diversion from anywhere on the file system. The $PATH parm should have /opt/bin in the path where diversion executable is located.

See these folders:

/opt/bin/diversion
/opt/share/diversion

Recommend you turn off telnet and use SSH instead. SSH more secure. Telnet is plain text. Use a SSH client software. Many free ones available. I use MobaXterm.

Just enter diversion and press Enter
Code:
diversion

USB formatted to ext2 or ext4 for an RT-AC1900P?

Both are fine. When benchmarking I noticed ext4 (even with journalling enabled) has slightly better performance, but YMMV. I doubt whether you will ever notice the difference.

Whatever floats your boat. I use ext2 on the same router model. And I also have the disk checker from amtm enabled on all my routers. Never once had a problem ever since.

Some like ext2 like me, and some like ext4. It is your choice really. I use ext2 because it is basic and fast.
