I can't seem to get it to install even after completely wiping the router, reinstalling the firmware etc.

Info: This platform supports both 64bit and 32bit Entware installations.
Info: 64bit support is recommended, but 32bit support may be required
Info: if you are using other 32bit applications.
Info: The 64bit installation is also better optimized for newer kernels.

Any ideas because I got nothin

I do not know if this would help, but I'm sure that you did not do this:

01. Format the USB Memory in the computer.
02. Format JFFS partition on the router:
  • Administration -> System -> Format JFFS partition at next boot -> YES -> Apply and Reboot
  • (You have to Apply before Reboot the router)

Just did all that, I even wiped the usb drive. The wiping the drive seemed to fix it. I am having another weird problem now where the router isn't able to resolve urls:

Server: 127.0.0.1
Address 1: 127.0.0.1
nslookup: can't resolve 'google.com'

Any ideas?

weird stuff, but I fixed it...

I should probably document this in case someone else runs into these issues.

The first set of issues regarding just the install of entware centered upon the hard drive I use just being deleted, but not reformatted properly between firmware installs and through a clean initialization. I am unsure why it would need to be wiped, but that seemed to be the only way to resolve the issues as copying over files from my backup to the drive itself seems like it lost permissions or Windows did something to them. I used minipart and reformatted with a clean EXT4 file system and BOOM it worked.

As for not being able to resolve sites, I had an entry in my dnsmasq.conf except-interface=lo and another exempting it from DHCP, this broke the resolution capabilities of dnsmasq. I removed the entries and this resolved the issue.
