Re load problems....for the AC56 and AC68 routers, please verify that your CFE bootloader is at least at 1.0.2.x before loading V19 (check on the Tools>Sysinfo page) .

Mine are also on 1.0.2

John got some feedback from a sky customer who switched to your firmware from shibby, on sky uk isp and using the ac68.

He said it all is working so far with ipv6. I dont know if he is using 19E1 or 19E2.

I was able to directly upgrade from 18E3 to 19X3 with no difficulty. (I was one who had not been able to upgrade to V19.)

There are ways to update the bootloader via CLI, but playing with the bootloader and having a problem is one way to truly 'brick' the router. For the ARM routers, you want to be on a 1.0.2.x level. That enables 64M rootfs support which gives you the flexibility to load any code you want., and in most cases allows overclocking of the memory. From my point of view, it's safest to do it with one of the ASUS OEM builds, which I have in the download directory, or Merlin build 380.55 (the code has to be small enough to still fit in a 32M space). They don't document bootloader changes, so don't know what may be changing, except for the couple of things I noted above. AFAIK, ASUS hasn't forced any bootloader updates except for the 1.0.1 to 1.0.2 update.

Sorry for the recent code churn.....
Thanks to @Pat57, @M1ch43lk, @InkyRag I was able to isolate the update failures to V19 to the new support for additional IPTV profiles. While I review that code, I have created an update V19E3 which temporarily removes that support. Since I don't yet understand the failure mechanism, and why some experienced problems and not others, I would recommended scheduling an update to the V19E3 firmware for anyone running a previous V19 level.

Was on 14e2 on 68R with old bootloader.
Updated the bootloader. Manually rebooted.
Updated to 19E3. Manually rebooted.
Looking fine. No settings lost. I didn't do any resets.

RT-AC56U CFE 1.0.1.9 and upgraded to 1.0.2.9 because V19E1 caused problems

Coming from V18E3 and erased nvram and loaded V19E2. Had to reset router after that. Then manually entered configuration. Started at "General" and worked my way down. At about "LAN" the thing locked up and had to reset. Started at the bottom and worked up and it locked up again. Reset and recovered.

Flashed V19E3. Zero problems manually configuring. Running like a champ.

@john9527 I think you found the reasons for the lock ups. Appears the CFE didn't matter. Thank you for your help over the weekend.

I have two asus rt-n66u running the latest merlin fork.

How do I simply enable bandwidth limiting (either via web gui or ssh) for the main 5GHz Asus SSID (wl1)?

I tried enabling the QoS - Bandwidth Limiter as per John9527's advice here but no dice (my imgur screenshots below):

• Yes sir....enabled for the N66U as well (enabled for all the fork supported routers until someone tells me it doesn't work and I find out I can't fix it ) As far as bw limits for the guest networks (wl1.1), the code is there, but I haven't tested that one yet. Just enter the interface name for the guest network in the target field where you would put the mac/ip address (i.e. wl0.1 for 2.4GHz Guest 1, wl1.1 for 5GHz Guest 1, etc.). If you try it, please give feedback.
