ok do you have an idea why it works on asuswrt and not asuswrt-merlin then? as he compared both firmwares. and I thought you changed to some kind of new driver.

CHANGED: Discontinued SDK5 builds for the RT-N66U. The new EM
builds resolved wifi range issues by running the SDK6
driver set in Engineering Mode (driver provided by Asus)
 
Chrysalis - Are you using the 374.40 driver as indicated in your signature? And just to confirm, that works in changing the country code?

Can you append the Driver version string from the Tools page here?

(I can recreate the stuck on Channel 36 problem on 374.43_2 when changing to any country other than #a and am trying to figure out what is going on)

yep I am on 374.40 and it was stuck until I set #a.
It also happened on the previous firmware (in my sig) as well but at that time I didnt know the cause.

Ahh...so it also doesn't work on 374.40. Did you ever have a version where you were able to successfully change the country to other than #a?

I think the first version I used, but cannot remember which it was, but was defenitly before 2014.
